Florida

Florida

Florida’s Gold Coast is a combination of sophisticated glamour of the “see and be seen crowd” and the laid back lifestyle of the Florida Keys.

Sample Itinerary:
Day 1: Join the yacht in Miami and begin with a cruise of the bay and the Intracoastal Waterway to view the luxurious waterfront homes on Fisher, Palm, Hibiscus, and Star Island. Tonight experience the South Beach scene with its cacophony of languages, range of ethnic restaurants, and throbbing Latin beats.   Dance the night away at one of the all-night clubs.

Day 2: In the morning the yacht will slowly begin the journey south.  Pass Biscayne, where former President Nixon had his vacation house.  As the skyline of Miami disappears notice the low lying islands of the Florida Keys. A stop at Elliott Key is a perfect opportunity to snorkel the pristine waters. Tonight dock at the exclusive Ocean Reef Club.

Day 3: Wake up early enjoy a round of golf, a bit of shopping, or relax poolside.  Later that day depart for the Middle Keys where the yacht will stop for a tender to Indian Key, the last of the untouched keys. For dinner stop at Hawks Cay Marina in Duck Key.

Day 4 and 5:  Legendary Key West will be home for the next couple of days.  From fishing and diving, to historical sights and museums there is plenty to do for everyone.  Sunset at Mallory Square is the place to be and then cocktails at one of Key West’s famous bars.

Day 6: After a couple of nights in Key West, quiet Sand Key or the Marqueses Keys will be a welcome relief for some fun water activities.  Anchor out and experience one of the most beautiful sunsets.

Day 7: Head back north stopping at Little Palm Island.  Discovered over two decades ago, Little Palm Island has been the escape of choice for presidents, high profile celebrities and savvy travelers alike. The magic of this island is its exclusive location where a captivating view exists in every direction and Snowy Egrets are your only competition for a prime beach spot.

Day 8: On the last day cruise back to Miami for an evening departure.

Buying a boat can be an intimidating experience – especially when moving up to more complex boats that stretch your expertise as was the case when we bought Kraken, our Beneteau First 36.7. Byron helped make this experience much less daunting than it might have been. He knew the boat well and got the answers we needed to make it a smooth process. When it came to that first voyage, bringing Kraken to her new home south of LA in a small weather window (almost) ahead of approaching rain Byron kindly volunteered to help, proved himself invaluable an… [read more]
