The latest member of the Wesport 130 megayacht-series has been completed by the American yacht builder. She represents the 5th 130-foot hull in the newly re-designed and restyled Westport 130 series; she is the 33rd Westport 130 built-to-date.
She was launched at the very end of 2010 and completed earlier this year. Hull 4005 has been christened as Gene Machine, following, Namaste (4004), Mustang Sally (4003), Aphrodite (4002) and the first hull (4001), Miss Michelle.
Gene Machine has been manufactured in composite materials like her sisterships. Her design is by naval architect, Taylor Olson and William Garden, and her interior designed by the superyacht designers at Westport Yachts.
She is powered by twin MTUs with a top speed of 24 knots. Her 5 luxurious staterooms sleep 10 guests in 4 guest cabins (all doubles) and a Master Stateroom on-deck.
The Westport 130 was first introduced at the 2001 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. Since her inception the W130 has provided dependable worldwide service, unsurpassed comfort and function in a tasteful/timeless design.
The 40m tri-deck superyacht continues in the 130 tradition with exceptional luxury, convenience, reliability and performance that is the Westport Yachts standard.
Designed for low maintenance, premium materials are selected for easy care and long service life, resulting in fewer haul-outs and less down time. One-piece deck molds are built using a sophisticated process that integrates deck, coamings, seat bases, hot tub and other elements to a single unit. Precision molds and decks are constructed so hull and superstructure parts fit exactly for absolute structural integrity and flawless finish. Westport Yachts installs proven systems with known performance and trouble-free operation. ABS-classed and MCA-compliant, the 40m is equally well suited for private use or yacht charter service.
Westport’s hull number 4006 is expected to launch and be completed later in 2011.
