Russ Schafer

Russell W. Schafer was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and spent his summers in the Florida Keys, later relocating there. He was raised by a true yachting and fishing family. As a third-generation waterman, he learned a great deal about the yachting industry at a young age running boats, at fishing tournaments, and helping run his family business, a Florida staple called “Fisherman’s Paradise”, where he sold fishing equipment, electronics, engines, and, of course, boats and tenders. 

Russ never stopped selling, with over 900 transactions over the last 25 years, and has since established himself as a senior broker at Denison Yachting with an impressive resumé.

His passion has now moved into large motor yachts and superyachts. Since 2020, Russ has visited all of the major yards in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and Turkey, as well as many smaller custom yards. 

Although his wealth of industry/product knowledge, negotiation skills, and enthusiasm are a major key to his success, what sets Russ apart is his integrity, professionalism, and ability to always put his client’s needs first, making sure they are the number one priority. If he doesn’t know the answer to something, he will get the right people involved to get the answer with his extensive network of relationships in the yachting industry. He is always learning and keeping up with the new designs and trends in the market.
