Yacht Charter Update at 2013 Antigua Show – Day Three

After a rainy start to the day, Kaisa and Natalia headed to English Harbour to begin the first official day of the show. First stop on the list, M/Y DREAM (ex-Excellence III). Abeking & Rasmussen built in 2001, her new owner put her through a 2 year refit by world-renowned interior design firm Bannenberg & Rowell. DREAM boasts 7 huge staterooms, 6 of which have king beds, two that can be converted to a twin or suite layout.

Walking up to the skylounge you are immediately made aware of the 103” cinematic television starboard side. Along with the audio/visual and complete IT refit you’re in for a good movie night.
Stepping out to the sundeck it’s very open with plenty of room for entertaining including a large jacuzzi forward with sunbeds.

She offers her charter guests various toys for use including a 33’ Intrepid center console and what we found quite unique, 3 kite boards with a certified instructor onboard. Overall for day two we voted M/Y DREAM Best Overall in English Harbour.

Next on our top list, S/Y BLISS – 121’ designed by Dubois. This 2009 yacht has a very clean, modern look and feel that can ideally accommodate 6 guests in 3 cabins or up to 10 guests with children. Unlike typical Dubois designs, Bliss has one salon lending to more interior room and larger cabins. There are two king cabins that can convert to twins with pullmans, all ensuite. Master can convert to two cabins, with a king and an upper & lower bunk, ideal for families. Wide hallways give the boat a larger feel.

On deck guests are treated to a small jacuzzi forward and a hydraulic swim platform with shower aft. Her composite construction gives charter guests an opportunity to experience a thrilling ride under sail.
BLISS’S black hull and sleek lines attract most when passing. With her exciting itinerary to the South Pacific and overall presentation we’ve given Bliss the award for Best Sailing Yacht in English Harbour.

Our third award of the day goes to M/Y TELEOST for Best Refit. The 1998 161’ Feadship retains her pedigree with an extensive 8 month refit at the Pendennis Yard. Captain Nigel Burnett has been on board for 13 years and along with key members of the crew their longevity proves older can be better. Her refit included complete interior design with all new softgoods, carpet and headliners giving her an updated, fresh feel. The dark wood and detailing pops with light cream interior. Her well-appointed cabins offer flexibility for charter guests with three king cabins and 3 twins.

Along with her dynamic crew, TELEOST offers themed nights, a 30’ water slide, a 21’ Contender, two stand up jet skis, two Seadoo’s, underwater scooters and multiple tow behinds.

Our fourth and final award of the day for English Harbour goes to M/Y JAGUAR for Best Toys.  This 183’ Benetti built in 2005 with a refit in 2010 she has a large welcoming feel ideal for families with kids of all ages.  The lucky winner of the Master Suite will enjoy a voluminous 10 meter full beam cabin with private forward upper gym.  Although private, the gym can be closed off from the Master with a separate entrance from the main deck.  This allows all guests use of the brand new elliptical complete with wifi access.  The more exciting Toys are the 33’ Intrepid, Master Craft X2 ski boat, Yamaha stand up jet sky, the Jet surf, 2 Yamaha wave runners, 3 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, 2 wakeboards, water skis, snorkel and fishing gear and last but not least the Big Banana and other fun towables.
