Cantiere delle Marche Launches Explorer Yacht Darwin Class 86’

Cantiere delle Marche recently launched the sixth Explorer Yacht Darwin Class 86’ M/Y Stella del Nord and is revered as the worldwide leader of this fast-growing segment.

Cantiere delle Marche Explorer Yacht Darwin Class 86'

Stella del Nord is the first model of “Darwin 2.0” series: the wider windows in the salons of the main deck and the upper deck, match with the lowered bulwarks to admire the best views from inside the vessel, different and sleeker bow windows and lines are only some of the features that give a more contemporary and cutting edge style to the Darwin Class line, without straying too far from the spirit that for so long has fascinated owners and enthusiasts worldwide.

This new Darwin Class 86 maintains anyway the family feeling of the range as it has been possible to witness with the arrival into the launching basin of her sistership M/Y Percheron, probably the most famous Darwin Class vessel, which has already sailed 23,000 miles in only two years. It has been quite emotional for the whole shipyard’s team to see Percheron paying a tribute to the Christening of Stella del Nord with long horn blows.

“Once again we credit much of the success of this project to the incredible harmony and synergy that has been created with the shipyard, the owner, the surveyor, and the captain. CdM proves itself to be once again a boutique shipyard where attention to detail and to everyone’s needs, together with the ability to listen, and willingness to fulfill every wish of the owner are the key to the success of every project” says Vasco Buonpensiere, Sales and Marketing Director of CdM.

Below deck, the master cabin and the VIP cabin in the bow, both are full beam. The owner’s family required particular attention in the study of outdoor spaces, especially the area of the sun deck which has been equipped with a gas barbecue and bar area, a dining area with a large sofa and chairs, as weel as a pilot station. This is definitely an incredible entertainment are able to welcome in its 40 m2 a large number of guests.

All the technical details which have characterized and created the success of the shipyard, making  CdM  the absolute leader in its market, as the latest Global Order Book by Showboats International testifies, are obviously maintained. More, some areas have been improved, such as the panting process and cycle or the mixed heating system, thanks to the team effort of the owner and the surveyor Ian Wastell of Wastell Marine, together with the technical and production team at CdM. Cupro nickel piping, automatic parallel between generators, three in this yacht to reduce even more the consumptions, standard electric stabilization system, bilge oil separator, together with the general overengineering and redundancies make this new Yacht easy to recognize as a CdM product. There is no doubt, in fact that these characteristics and the utmost quality are signature features of all the yachts built at Cantiere delle Marche

CdM CEO Ennio Cecchini personally supervised this project and proudly declares: “In many years of yachting and shipyard neither my men nor I remember a launch of a boat at this level of quality and completion. The path of consolidation and improvement of the processes that we undertook  is definitely paying off and I am convinced that, during the next boat shows, we will again surprise our potential customers for what our products represent in terms of quality and finishing.”

The interiors, designed by Studio PFA Design, develop around the theme of lightness and light, which are achieved through simple combinations. A palette of luxury and carefully selected materials: the natural elm, the open-pore white lacquered wood, travertine, and warm natural fabrics. The wheelhouse, following the marine tradition of the Darwin Class series, was built in warm tone mahogany. The vessel style is light and contemporary, with elegant lines and soft, modern shapes: a style that fully reflects the personality of the owners and that in every detail gives the strength and the class typical of the Gentlemen’s Yachts.

Cantiere delle Marche continues its course of success with an important backlog and a series of launches throughout this 2015 season.

After M/Y Stella del Nord, in fact, in July CdM will launch the flagship Darwin Class 107′ M/Y Storm, which will debut together with Stella del Nord and the Nauta Air 90 M/Y Noga at the next Festival  de la Plaisance in Cannes on September 2015.

After the aforesaid launches, there will be the one of the Darwin Class 102′ M/Y Acala, which will leave Ancona straight to Fort Lauderdale to participate to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November 2015.

The shipyard is currently building a Nauta Air 108, a Nauta Air 111 and a Darwin Class 102 and two contracts are going to be completed very soon for another two Nauta Air 111 built on two different naval platforms which will be of 299 GRT and 330 GRT.

Denison Super Yacht Division is proud to be the exclusive North American Dealer for Cantiere delle Marche who recently launched hull #6 of the successful Darwin 86 line of Explorer Yachts. This is the first of the ‘Darwin 2.0’ series, which has improved profile lines with enlarged windows both on the main & upper decks along with slight modification to the profile lines thus increasing her cosmetic appeal yet remaining true to her explorer roots. The end result is amazing.

‘”The Explorer Yacht segment of the market has been a personal passion of mine,” says DSYD broker Alex G Clarke who is the brand manager for Cantiere delle Marche North America. “The Darwin series are true global explorers – steel hull, full displacement, long range cruisers that are tough enough to travel to the far reaches of the world’s oceans in complete comfort.”

What is great about the Darwin 86 is that it is a relatively small, practical size to manage with minimal crew giving you the freedom to keep annual operating expenses low while still having the ability to go almost anywhere. The Darwin 86 has both trans-Atlantic & trans-Pacific range with added refrigerator & freezer spaces for extensive provisioning.

Your limits on where you can go are only left up to your imagination.
