Conrad Vanderlely grew up in Fort Lauderdale, where his father owned a marine engine repair business. He grew up on the water and has a passion for marine life – he graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in environmental science.
We sat down with Conrad and asked him a few questions:
How do you survive Mondays?
Lots of coffee and sales meetings.
Favorite day of the workweek and why?
Probably Friday, because I get to go boating Saturday.
Which living person do you most admire?
My dad.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Edward Norton or Ryan Gosling.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
My grandfathers.
What is hanging above your sofa?
Nothing – my sofa’s not against a wall.
What is your favorite word?
Yes.
What is your earliest childhood memory?
Fishing with my dad.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A fighter pilot.
What’s the best advice you ever received?
Work hard and do what’s right.
What’s your biggest weakness?
Being too nice. Cookies.
What do you consider your biggest achievement?
Marrying my wife.
Who is the first person you share good news with?
My wife and my dad.
Would your childhood self be surprised at how you turned out?
No, I don’t think so.
What’s your most prized possession?
My two dogs.
