This two-leg sportfish tournament will begin in Varadero June 5-8. Boats will fish from the Marina Gaviota, a beautiful, modern 1,100-slip marina located on the tip of the Varadero peninsula. From Varadero boats will travel to Marina Hemingway in Havana for the second leg June 10-13.

Anglers and their guests will enjoy not only the great offshore fishing Cuba has to offer but the culture, food and beautiful people of this island nation.

This is an all release tournament. Points will be awarded on a basis of 100 points for released sailfish, 200 points for released white marlin or spearfish, and 600 points for released blue marlin. In the event of a tie in total points between two or more teams for the same award, the team that first achieved the point total shall be the winner.

All anglers and crewmembers are expected to be familiar with the IGFA Salt Water Angling Rules. The angler must hook, fight and bring the fish to gaff or the point of release unaided by any other person. No one other than the angler may touch the rod. IGFA Salt Water Angling Rules apply at all Gamefish Grande tournaments with the following exceptions.

The Gamefish Grande works in conjunction with Cuba Travel Services to make meeting all of these requirements simple.

Participants are advised to check with their insurance provider for the latest information on coverage in Cuba.
