When you love what you do, coming to work is always fun. And 2016 was such a banner year for Denison that it made coming to work every day even more fun. Here are a few of our highlights for 2016:
In 2016, Denison opened waterfront offices in Annapolis, Md., New York; two in Newport, R.I., Daytona Beach, Miami, San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, bringing our total number to 24 locations.
The total length of yachts sold in 2016 was almost 32,000 feet, up significantly from 28,418 in 2015.
DYS Broker Glynn Smith sold the largest, most expensive yacht in Denison’s history this year, “Elandess” (now “Elysian”), a 197 ft. Abeking & Rasmussen that was listed at almost $60 million.
Denison, which has exhibited in every single Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show since the show began, had its most ever boats in this year’s show, with 49 boats totaling more than 3,446 feet in length. They included 6 superyachts longer than 100 feet, with the longest being “Mine Games,” a 2014 203’ Benetti.
In March, Denison had the good fortune to be tapped as the Hatteras Yachts dealer for Broward, Palm Beach and Martin counties. Denison also became a Marquis and Carver yachts dealer in California and started working with CNB Yachts.
Plans were made to tie a different kind of knot this year at the boat show for the first time ever when Jason Perez enlisted Denison to help him propose to his girlfriend on a Beneteau sailboat in the show.
In 2016, Denison launched its charter fleet, which quickly grew to an array of luxurious yachts including Elysian, Wildflour, Le Reve, Paradise and Lady Carmen.
Denison’s in-house videographers traveled around the country and as far as Monaco and Japan to produce almost 200 drone and walkthrough videos.
Denison Crew unveiled its interactive website, which includes an easy-to-use resume builder, job board and video profiles.
16 boats and more than 80 people attended this year’s summer escape to Resorts World Bimini, and plans are already in the works for Denison’s groundbreaking 2017 rendezvous to Cuba.
This year’s shipyard tour took brokers to 9 leading superyacht builders around Europe, including Lurssen, Feadship, Abeking & Rasmussen and Van der Valk.
We hope all of our friends enjoyed the holidays, and we can’t wait to see what 2017 brings.
