Van der Valk Signs 2 New Yacht Orders

December 1, 2016 10:37 am

Van der Valk Shipyard has announced two new orders for semi-custom projects, according to Superyachts.com.

The first is a 26-meter Van der Valk Raised Pilothouse motoryacht, with delivery scheduled for late spring 2017, and the second is an 18-meter Van der Valk Flybridge.

The Raised Pilothouse will have a distinctive look, blending Van der Valk’s overall modern style with understated classic elements. Its layout will incorporate an elegant elevated wheelhouse position and wide open forward main deck area. Guido de Groot Design helped design both the interior and exterior.

The lower deck is home to the full-beam owners’ cabin with walk-in wardrobe, two guest cabins with ensuites and a spacious VIP forward. The flybridge deck sports an outdoor helm plus sun loungers, dinette settee and wet bar, with space for a 4.2-m tender and waverunner.

The lounge includes a cooking island and is linked to the outdoor area by sliding doors. A split-level wheelhouse arrangement creates a natural flow between the raised pilothouse and main deck via floating stainless steel stairs. The galley is flanked by a day head, while the crew mess, two crew cabins and bathroom are located forward.

“We are working very closely with the owners to ensure that everything on board reflects their particular preferences for this Van der Valk Raised Pilothouse,” marketing manager Yoeri Bijker told Superyachts.com.

“No expense is being spared as we develop a contemporary interior together of whitewashed English oak, classic highlights and unique features,” Bijker said. “The large windows will make the interior exceptionally bright, while clean, straight lines frame the open spaces and original components. The result is going to be superb.”

A conventional shaft propulsion system with propellers and twin MTU engines will provide 25 knots. A Seakeeper 26 gyroscopic stabilizing system will ensure maximum comfort.

The Van der Valk Flybridge will have an unprecedented degree of luxury for an 18m motoryacht when delivered in May 2017.

The Flybridge comprises an outdoor helm station, dinette settee and table and a wet bar. There is also room on deck for a 3.50m tender with crane, while the foredeck features ample sun beds. All the day spaces are grouped at main deck level, including the saloon, dining room and open aft area with table for eight. The galley to port is placed alongside the steering station to starboard.

The Flybridge also boasts a sauna for three people with a connected bathroom to port, as well as a utility room/office to starboard. The full-beam owners’ cabin amidships has a bed fitted diagonally to allow for a more spacious bathroom, and the luxurious VIP cabin occupies the lower deck forward. The new yacht will be powered by Volvo IPS engines and include underway fin stabilizers.

The full-beam 26-meter superyacht and the sleek and stylish 18-meter illustrate the company’s commitment to the smaller yachting bracket, even with growing demand in the superyacht sector.

Van der Valk also has a 24-meter yacht under construction that offers the perfect opportunity to have a high-quality, customized Dutch yacht delivered in less than 6 months.
