Denison Sells 121′ Motoryacht “News” in In-House Deal

April 3, 2017 9:15 am

Denison Yachting has sold the 121′ Denison motoryacht “News” in an in-house deal. The 1986 motoryacht was listed with Kit Denison, and Superyacht Broker Kurt Bosshardt represented the buyer.

Built by Denison with an aluminum hull and superstructure and teak decks and designed by Joe Langlois. “News” is the flagship, and largest superyacht in the Denison fleet. Originally 104 feet, she was extended to her current length by Denison Marine in Dania Beach, Fla., in 1992.

“It’s great to see an owner that appreciates the quality of the boat,” Kit said of the buyer, who is a knowledgeable yacht owner.

“News” was originally built with four staterooms and was designed for corporate entertainment and major corporate events. In fact, the “Alliance,” as she was formerly known, logged 100 events in New York City in one summer.

After the “Alliance” was sold, the four staterooms were converted to three, combining two forward staterooms into one very large, full-width master stateroom, with his and hers heads.

The large formal dining salon offers seating for ten. The galley is professionally equipped to handle a large group for special events of up to 75 guests, or for up to ten guests at a more intimate dinner party.

The flybridge features a full wet bar with refrigerator, ice maker, seating for over 15 guests and lots of storage. Aft of the covered seating area is a deck with room for two tenders, jet skis, other toys, and life rafts.

The master stateroom features a full king-size berth with an upholstered headboard, set off by a full-length mirror, flanked by custom sconces. Twin full-height cedar-lined closets flank the master berth, with built-in dressers on the port and starboard sides, including a large make-up vanity on the port side.

The cockpit is fitted with a Rybovich Marlin chair, built-in storage cabinets, sink and Bar-B-Q. A starboard side transom door leads to a large swim platform that allows guests easy access for the tender and jet skis to enjoy scuba, fishing, and other water sports.

“News” has room for up to five crew and is equipped with two MTU12 V- 331 TC 90 turbo-charged diesel engines, two 75 kW Northern Lights generators and updated electronics.

Captain Steve Pulaski and crew will remain with the boat. She will undergo an extensive refit at the Marina Mile Yachting Center in Fort Lauderdale, after which the new owner plans to use and charter her in New England and the Caribbean.
