Azimut 76 Magellano Walkthrough Video

May 11, 2017 8:03 am

The Azimut Magellano is the reinterpretation of traditional Italian trawler boats, offering supreme cruising comfort even at low speeds and the freedom to go at higher speeds when wanted.

Azimut packed a lot of smart features inside the 76 Magellano, giving her plenty of substance for owners who want to cruise well beyond the next port in real comfort. Join us as we take a walkthrough of this impressive motoryacht:

The Magellano series by Azimut is a line of trawler style cruisers that combine the stability of a displacement vessel with the speed of a planing boat. Today we’re going to walk you through the 76, built in 2016, named S3.

This is the newest and the largest in the Magellano family. She’s equipped with a teak hydraulic swim platform with steps on either side that bring us to the aft deck. The teak aft deck has a dining table that can seat 8 people. And this whole area is protected from the elements by the hardtop above.

S3 has teak side decks that keep you well-protected while walking fore and aft. You’ll notice that they’re covered as well and the owner installed additional LED lights to increase visibility at night.

Further forward on the bow is a large sunpad and a forward-facing seat. You also have storage compartments up here to either side. Back on the aft deck, the access to the flybridge is on the starboard side. Let’s go take a look.

On the aft section on the bridge, there’re two lounge chairs for soaking up some sun. Forward of that on the port side is a big U-shaped dining area that will also accommodate 8 people comfortably. Across from here is your flybridge galley complete with grill and sink above with an icemaker and fridge below.

Forward on the bridge is your upper helm station with dual Raymarine displays, GPS, chartplotter, radar and joystick control that makes her nimble in tight quarters. She’s equipped with a seakeeper stabilizer that significantly reduces roll and brings out the best in the Dixon hull form. Let’s continue the walkthrough and head into the salon.

The interior of S3 is signature Azimut. It’s a bright atmosphere with a distinct Italian design. The calculated use of natural woods, stone and leather is evident and really separates her from your everyday trawler. When you first walk in, you have storage for your dining items. And on the port side here, you have a fridge and ice maker.

Your U-shaped galley is located aft on the starboard side. It’s situated so you can feel safe cooking underway and provides easy access to both interior and exterior dining spaces. Also the appliances like your fridge, freezer and dishwasher are disguised as cabinetry to maintain that sleek styling.

Continuing forward into the main salon, you’ll notice the large windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood inside. To port is your formal dining area with seating again for 8. And to starboard is a large U-shaped seating area for hanging out and relaxing. And while you’re doing that, enjoy a film on your pop-up TV just behind the helm station.

Continuing all the way forward is your lower helm station with everything you’ll need to follow in the footsteps of Ferdinand Magellan. One great feature here is the visibility. You’re not going to find many one-piece windshields on a boat that measures over 80 feet in length. Let’s continue down to the staterooms.

S3 has a 4 stateroom, 4 head layout. We’ll begin in the bow with your VIP. You’ll notice the detail and the finishes can be found in each stateroom. Here in the VIP, you have queen sized bed, plenty of storage nearby and your ensuite is on the portside with a separate stall shower.

Heading aft to starboard, we have a guest stateroom with side-by-side berths. Each stateroom has flat-screen TVs with full entertainment systems. And this stateroom has an ensuite located forward that doubles as your dayhead.

Further aft on the port side is another guest stateroom, this time with over/under berths, and each bed has its own flip-down TV which is ideal for the kids. The ensuite for the stateroom is located aft and also has a separate stall shower.

Moving aft again we’ll find ourselves in the full-beam master stateroom. It’s light and bright in here, thanks to the big windows on either side. The starboard side has a vanity and a generous walk-in closet. And on the port side we have a settee as well as the access to your master head with bidet, toilet and large shower. Take a look at the detail and the stone work here in the master shower.

Let’s make our way back into the galley, where we have the crew quarters and engine room access. From the bottom of the stairs, we move to the port side of the boat, where we have the laundry area and the first crew stateroom. Leaving this section we’ll pass the head and shower that serves both crew staterooms before continuing to your other crew stateroom on the starboard side.

Forward of the crew area is your engine room. This is where you get a sense of how serious the Magellano designers were about cruising. Engine access is superb, thanks in part to the placement of your 1000 horsepower MANs that sit lower in the boat offering 6 feet of headroom.

She has a top speed of 22 knots, but she’ll give you serious range at slower speeds. At 9 knots, she has a range of 1600 nautical miles. And to give you some context, that means you can go from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini and back 16 times.

That concludes our walkthrough of S3, the 2016 76 Azimut Magellano. For more information please contact David Johnson.
