The Dufour 410 Grand Large is one of the flagships in the range. It was conceived to incorporate functionalities usually reserved for larger yachts. Join us as we take a look at the exterior of this sophisticated sailing yacht:
Hi, my name is John Zagorski of Denison Yacht Sales, and I’d like to welcome you to the Dufour 410 Grand Large.
The Dufour 410 is actually set up very nicely for both comfort and for sailing abilities. Nice little features that they put into it: these individual helm seats are great for the pilot or co-pilot on either side. When you’re not using them, they flip up and out of the way. They also are fully removable if you don’t want them there.
Foot chocks in the cockpit sole; these flip up and give you a real nice pad to put your feet on while you’re sailing on the high side for extra stability. Underneath here are life raft and wet storage. Tailgate flips down, it’s accessible there, they’re also hinged and lift up so you can get in there larger sized items as well.
Moving forward into the cockpit, lazarette storage on both sides – port and starboard. And then we also have the boards that lift up and they turn these into nice sunbeds. You have them port and starboard as well, and then they tuck away when not in use.
Large table, flips up beautiful teak finish, it’s extra sturdy so when you’re sitting and heeling on it, you can put your feet on it, you can push and it’s not going to affect the wood.
Back at the helm again, at the center line here we have the chartplotter for easy viewing from both helm stations. Winch placement is close to the helm, so you can reach that easily as you’re sailing to trim your jib, instrumentation on both sides as well as compasses.
As you move forward on the Dufour 410 around the companionway, you have all of the line clutches here – port and starboard – that lead back to winches. This is an electric winch for your halyard. You can cross it if you want to use this one on the electric as well. So you have traveler controls, mainsheet, everything – all run right back to here.
Here we have the additional port lights that we put in both port and starboard that give extra light into the cabin down below, a really nice feature, really brightens up the boat quite a bit.
The rig on this particular boat is the classic rig, has a fully battened mainsail with a lazy bag and lazy jack system. It is available with in-mast furling if you prefer that for use.
