Leopard 58 Sailing Catamaran Walkthrough Video Tour

August 23, 2017 12:58 pm

This 2015 Leopard 58 was ordered by an experienced yachtsman and three-time Leopard owner. She is loaded with almost every possible factory option and has been maintained by a full-time captain. No expense has been spared, and she is in perfect condition, ready to go and never chartered.

This can be a live-aboard, a successful charter yacht or global traveler. The Leopard 58 features the largest flybridge of any catamaran in this class as well as the most open and well ventilated salon. Join us as we take a walkthrough of this extremely comfortable catamaran.

We’re here in Miami Beach, Florida, to take you on a walkthrough of In the Zone, a 58 Leopard sailing catamaran. Let’s begin with the exterior. The Leopard 58 has one of the most innovative forward sections of any catamaran. This is your forward cockpit that gives you outstanding views and puts you right in the thick of things while sailing.

Forward are your trampolines. This is a great place to lay out, get some sun and listen to the waves go by. All around us here, you’ll find storage in both lockers and these hatches to both the port and starboard sides. And up at the bow are a couple seats.

On the stern you really get a feel for her size, especially the beam at 27 feet 9 inches. At the waterline swim platforms to either side give safe access to the water and will also lead on to the aft deck. Stretching the full beam of the boat, the aft deck provides yet another covered entertaining space. Adding a table with some teak chairs would work well here.

We can find access to the flybridge here to port. Let’s go take a look. The flybridge is certainly one of her best features with room for 10 people comfortably. On the aft section of the flybridge we have a seating area. But you can see there’s plenty of room to add some lounge chairs, if you wanted.

Here to port is your wet bar complete with sink, fridge, icemaker and storage. Forward in the center is a huge seating area with seatbacks that can face either direction. You can imagine having all your friends and family up here, enjoying a meal or a beautiful sail. Forward to the port side is additional seating and to starboard is your helm station.

She has a full set of electronics including autopilot, depth and speed, glass bridge, GS-165 chartplotter, wind instruments and rearview camera. All your lines run neatly back to big electric winches with controls on the floor and at the helm. This Leopard 58 has an electric furling genoa and an asymmetrical spinnaker that will definitely be turning heads no matter where you are.

Let’s make our way into the interior. Leopard replicates that feeling you get on the flybridge here in the salon with tons of light and a spacious layout. Here to starboard is a U-shaped seating area with a cocktail table in the middle. And when the meal is ready to be served, that table comes up and the leaves fold out.

Meals are cooked on the port side here in the galley. There’s a full-size fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven and 5-burner cooktop. It’s important to mention that you have an additional fridge on the aft deck.

Continuing forward in the salon is an L-shaped sofa that accompanies your forward cockpit. This is a great spot to come inside and escape the heat or watch a movie with your concealed 36-inch TV. To the port side here, we have a nav station with another set of engine controls, chartplotter and autopilot.

Let’s stay here on the port side and move down to your guest accommodations. Forward is a queen and aft is a set of twins. You’ll also have another freezer here for better provisioning.

Let’s move over to the starboard side. The entire starboard hull is dedicated to the master stateroom. Aft is your bed with storage all around and a loveseat nearby. As we continue forward we have a vanity and a hanging locker. Further forward is a more private office area and then up in the bow is your master head.

As of July 2017 this Leopard 58 has only 250 hours on her 100 horsepower Yanmars. They can be accessed from the aft deck.

That concludes our walkthrough of In the Zone, our Leopard 58 sailing catamaran. If you have any questions or if you’d like to get onboard for a closer look, contact Tom Houtenbrink.
