Erik was practically raised on a Sabot at King Harbor Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, California. At the age of six, he knew sailing was what he wanted to be doing as much as possible. His family often spent weekends onboard their Gulfstar 41 over at the Isthmus in Catalina, a place that helped his passion for the boating life continue to grow.
After years of sailing small boats and Sabots, he eventually started racing competitively. At 16, Erik competed in his first offshore race and was hooked. To date, he has competed in six Trans-Pacific yacht races from Los Angeles to Honolulu, and one Pacific Cup race from San Francisco to Honolulu. He also competed in a Los Angeles to Tahiti race aboard a Magnitude 80, in which his team broke the record for the fastest monohull to cross the Pacific in 11 days – a record the team still holds.
When he's not racing, Erik spends time on the water with his wife, daughter and two sons, enjoying fishing, sailing, surfing, power boating or a simple relaxing cruise in Newport Beach. He is a member of the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club there and frequently helps out with the club's successful junior sailing program.
Committed to working hard for his clients, Erik has been all over the U.S., as well as traveled to Europe, in search of the perfect yacht for his customers, always willing to guide them throughout the buying and selling process. You can find Erik in our Newport Beach office, always ready to help guide you through your next purchase.
