Day 3 of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show began without a hitch. Attendees flocked the docks at 10am and continued until 7pm. The morning offered high temperatures and a beaming sun. The clouds rolled in around 2pm and opened for rain showers at about 2:30 — the rain did little to dampen anyone’s spirits.
The docks stayed filled and people were excited to scope out more yachts, boats, and merchandise. STORE CHECKS, a 76′ Lazarra 1994 saw an influx of guests today. People love touring her 5 stateroom layout that just underwent a complete interior refit to the headliners and carpeting. She’s also sporting a completely new paint job from the waterline to the flybridge. Over on our new boat dock, Beneteau has been showing off new Gran Turismo and Swift Trawler models. The GT 50, ST 47, ST 41, and the GT 36 are on display in person or through our virtual experience.
When we weren’t at the Denison docks, we checked out the Tri Sea Stabilizers booth to learn how their Seakeepers work. We jumped on board a 26-foot center console fitted with a Seakeeper 3. A Tri Sea representative rocked the boat to mimic a rolling sensation, and when he turned on the Seakeeper, the boat locked in place. No more roll, no more seasickness. It’s a game-changer.
With another eventful day on the docks, we asked an attendee his thoughts about FLIBS 2020.
“It’s amazing that they’ve managed to pull this off in such unpredictable times. It’s really encouraging for everything moving forward,” commented the FLIBS 2020 guest.
