Best Italian Superyachts for Sale

Marina Nazario | August 20, 2021

The best yachts from shipbuilders in Italy, available for sale with Denison Yachting.

Italian shipyards have a reputation for being leaders in yacht design and production. Italy maintains some of the oldest and most renowned shipyards including Benetti, Sanlorenzo, Riva, Ferretti, and Azimut. Italian shipbuilders are fueled by the ingenuity, passion, and courage of their founders, and today, experiment with new technologies and Italian nautical design.

Italy’s history in the yachting industry dates back to 1819, in a small town called Viareggio. About 200 years ago, the first dock was built in Viareggio, and workers built large wooden ships to transport the marble. The city became a major international shipping headquarters with a history of carpentry and craftsmanship. As boat building gained popularity, Viareggio evolved to support the yachting industry and became a hub for constructing luxury fiberglass vessels.

We could spend days talking about Italy’s history in the yachting industry, but we want to get to the point — here are 5 Italian yachts you can buy right now with Denison Yachting. These boats are in a league of their own.

1. ARGENTO | 124’ Ferretti Custom Line 2013

Custom Line was founded in 1996 as an evolution of Ferretti’s brand, designed to broaden the company’s range of 30-meter boats. Their goal was to create a range of yachts in composite materials, individually made for highly demanding, loyal Ferretti clients. The result is a fleet of semi-displacement superyachts with an array of personalized solutions, providing free rein to owners who love to experience the sea.

ARGENTO is a 124-foot Custom Line built in 2013 and features more options than any other Custom Line 124. She can accommodate 10 guests in 5 cabins including a spacious on-deck master suite and 4 guest cabins below. Exterior deck spaces include lounge areas on the upper sundeck, boat deck, bow, and aft deck, perfect for sunbathing or dining. Highlighting features include balconies, upgraded interior decor, and a tender garage that converts to a beach club.

2. CAMY ED | 105’ Azimut 2007

CAMY ED | 105' Azimut 2007 profile

Azimut Yachts began in 1969 as a sailboat charter business, but in the 1970s, the brand expanded operations into designing new boats. In 1985, Azimut was acquired by Benetti and gained the tools to construct superyachts. The brand defined a new style and industry standards that revolutionized the boat building industry, including large frameless windows, electric seats, and walnut interiors.

CAMY ED is a 105′ Azimut Grande, a two-and-a-half deck yacht of superlatives, laid out with the perfect balance of open exterior deck spaces and indoor privacy. Her solarium-style window design offers a sensation of spaciousness throughout the interior spaces, allowing natural light to flood in all directions. While the hard-top flybridge features a Jacuzzi, wet bar, lounges, and dinette.

3. NINIPOP XL | 96’ Sanlorenzo 2021

The Sanlorenzo shipyard has been building high-quality motor yachts since 1958. It’s a boutique firm based in Liguria, Italy, building only a limited number of made-to-measure units per year. Each yacht is designed and produced according to the specific requests, style, and desires of the individual owner.

Sanlorenzo is known for pushing boundaries and did so with NINIPOP XL, an SL96 Asymmetric, meaning they applied an asymmetrical concept to the design of this yacht. Typically, on a yacht, the port side and starboard side are almost identical. In this case, the main deck starboard side has a full walk-around path. But the interior features a full-beam width to port, allowing more livable space inside. This design is opposite on the upper deck. Her atypical design is a perfect example of Italian ingenuity.

4. KAVITA | 88’ Ferretti Yachts 2006

Ferretti Yachts is an Italian family company established in 1968 by brothers, Norberto and Alessandro Ferretti. In 1994, Ferretti was introduced to the American market with massive success. The impact of Ferretti’s line on the American market was immediate, and the business gained a reputation for building the highest-quality yachts in the world.

Ferretti Yachts put intuition, nautical ingenuity, and impeccable Italian design into the 88′ flybridge motor yacht. KAVITA stands out with its teak wood, multiple decks, well-designed cabins, and innovative features. An ultra-luxury interior boasts wide windows, designer furnishings, and spacious dining and living areas. But it’s the master stateroom that is a stand-out feature with a spacious shower and Tevco Jacuzzi that faces large windows.

5. YCM 90 | 90′ Pershing 2007

YCM 90 | 90' Pershing 2007 aerial

Pershing, a leading brand in the “Made in Italy” fiberglass open yacht market, has been manufacturing luxury open motor yachts for 30 years. Pershing yachts are recognized for their performance, style, and comfortable interiors, featuring a sporting trim line, peak speeds of 52 knots, and advanced construction methods. In the late 1990s, Pershing Yachts was acquired by the Ferretti Group and made a huge impact on the American market.

This Pershing 90 has the look and character of a megayacht — especially with the interior boasting high ceilings and comfortable spaciousness. She combines size with seaworthiness, speed with comfort, and space optimization with attention to detail. This Pershing yacht is optimized for entertaining guests with separate lounge areas on the bow, upper salon, and aft deck.
