Luxury yacht sales and real estate investment experienced a record-breaking year in 2021. Despite the pandemic, yacht sales experienced one of the strongest years with Denison brokering an industry-leading 112 superyacht transactions. On the other hand, the real estate market saw 6 properties that sold above $120 million (compared to one sale over $100 million in 2020, according to Inman).
Curious about how these two luxury markets compare? We dive into the top sales of 2021 for yachts and real estate by comparing sale price, volume, accommodation, and amenities.

$122.7 million
21,000 square feet
It’s no surprise that a 21,000-square-foot mansion in Palm Beach makes this list; a spec house purchased at $122.7 million is part of the most expensive deal in the city’s history. The property was once a 61,744-square-foot residence that belonged to former President Trump. The lot was bought, demolished, and divided into three separate residences. A contemporary beachfront mansion was built on one of the lots in 2020 with 9 bedrooms and 12 baths on 2 acres.
