Every December, art lovers and fashion folk flock to Miami for a week filled with flashy festivities, from pop-up installations on South Beach to after-parties in Wynwood. But there’s no better way to kick off Art Basel than on a yacht overlooking the city’s skyline from golden hour to sunset. So, on the festival’s opening day, Vogue100 and Mytheresa gathered an exclusive group of fashion’s finest for a spectacular soireé on a superyacht.

The evening picked up where the Louis Vuitton’s spring 2022 men’s show left off at Island Global Yachting’s sunshine state outpost, Yacht Haven Grande Miami. Megayacht 4 ROSES of American powerhouse brokerage Denison Yachting in collaboration with Luxury Day Charters welcomed models, artists, philanthropists, and musicians for an unforgettable evening. Vogue’s features and commerce editor Lilah Ramzi and senior living writer Elise Taylor co-hosted the buzzy celebration with Mytheresa’s Heather Kaminetsky.

From the top down, every deck was outfitted in Missoni Home interiors like printed throw pillows, patterned towels, and cylindrical poofs, which added the perfect pops of color to the sun pads and spacious lounge areas. The luxury Italian brand’s newly appointed CEO, Giacomo Missoni, made sure to stop by for a cocktail and canapés in the stylish setting. Known for masterminding the art of fusion, Duck ‘N Sum curated the sophisticated and sensory menu, including roasted duck bao buns, crispy king prawn spring rolls, and garlic ginger bok choy bites.

Once the sun began to transition from an afternoon glow into golden hour, guests gazed out over the horizon only to spot a VanDutch yacht turned Dom Perignon champagne boat heading towards the party. Soon enough, uniformed models holding archive bottles of bubbly arrived on board just in time for a sunset toast. Of course, 4 Roses was the first superyacht to receive the Dom Perignon Experience, but you might catch the team pulling up to other on-the-water parties with Joe’s Stone Crab and caviar throughout the week.

Up on the sky lounge, Calirosa Tequila transformed the 360-degree viewing deck into a tropical oasis. Famed supermodel and the female force behind the Mexican meets California spirit, Behati Prinsloo topped off guests’ Calirosa tequila cocktails while talented bartenders kept drinks flowing from the bar all night long. The Rosita Margarita infused with lychee and lemon was, without a doubt, a crowd-pleaser. While some partygoers mingled from deck to deck, others were tempted to take a quick dip in the jacuzzi on the bow. I think it’s safe to say that this Art Basel soirée made quite the splash.
