Hey guys, it’s Bob and we are going to do a monthly recap. When we talk about the things we did in April, what we’re going to do in the upcoming months and a little bit about who we are.
And the what we did part. We did a lot. So one of the things that I’m going to highlight is just about Denison being the leader, first to market with crypto currency transactions. We are just right around a dozen transactions in sales and charter and one of the cool things that happened was that we were highlighted on CNBC, The Today Show, Lester Holt it was a really really cool thing. Kate Rooney did the interview, and Bitcoin Miami happened here.
So all of the buzz in South Florida was everything crypto currency and it was neat to be highlighted and to be seen as the authority of crypto currency in the IT industry. We have people to thank for that. At the top of the list is Kathy Azuma and our friends at Bit Pay. I’m going to get Kathy in a little bit when we talk about who we are. But I wanted to mention that, that happened in April it was a big highlight for us as a company and for me too because I got to be on camera and I love CNBC, I love The Today Show and all that stuff. So it’s a really really really cool thing for me personally.
On the kind of like listings and what we sold front, we’re going to start with one of the listings, we’re going to highlight the 172 foot Custom Schooner 2014 actually located down in Uruguay. Ryan and David went down there, did an awesome video shoot, that boat is called DONA FRANCISCA. We also secured a new listing, Bruce Schattenberg got a 108 foot Ferretti custom line built in 2018, located here in South Florida and also the Bahamas, the name of that boat is GIOIA. BOOMSHAKALAKA, that is a fun thing to say, it is also the name of Pierre’s latest listing is 85 Arcadia, motor yacht located in Spain.
LADY Y, a 72 foot princess that Will Noftsinger and Karie Noftsinger just secured as a central, and PIPE DREAMER, a 70 Viking 2015 that Mike Burke has listed. 2 more I’m going to highlight. One is a 70 foot Sunreef 2016 called VALHALLA, I’m a big Sunreef fan, a big power catamaran fan. So really cool boat, great charter platform, really really neat boat for anybody looking for a powercat. That boat is listed centrally with Tony Smith. And also a really cool, oh my gosh, look at that, no matter where you are, how many drinks you’ve had, who you’re with, you’re going to look over there and say that is one of the coolest boats ever seen. It’s 53 HCB 2020 listed with Bobby Giancola, the name of that boat is SO MANY ROADS.
On the sold front I’m going to highlight 5 this month. We could do way more. I would love to announce the total number we did per month, we do these a little bit before close, so I kind of just highlight the big ones. But the ones we’re going to go over, the first one is Kurt Bosshardt, closed on a 202 foot Viareggio superyacht built in 2009 called SEALYON. One of the most outstanding/thrilling creative interior spaces I’ve ever seen on board any yacht of any size. Congratulations to Kurt on the closing a few weeks ago
Also Chris Daves closed on 150 Richmond called CATCHING MOMENTS, that boat was built in 2013. Alex Clarke, he seems to be doing this every month, it’s not quite that much but congratulations to Alex and Ali and our friends at Numarine. Alex just secured a new construction contract on the 37 XP 121-foot Numarine. And ZANZIBAR is 102-foot sailing yacht that Justin Onofrietti closed. Little known secret we are actually responsible for selling more sailboats over 60 feet than anybody else in the world and that was one of them. And also a really cool looking massive interior spaces, Ari Sherr closed on a 80 foot Norresman 2010 called AQUAVILLA up in Seattle and that is a sampling of the boats we sold. So that’s what we did in April on the sales front.
Now what we’re going to do? So it’s April. It is kind of like opening day in baseball, spring, and it also means that those are going back in the water up in the northeast and any place here in the states or Europe where it’s cold, you’ll see the barn is opening up and the boats going in the water which is a very exciting thing. And at the same time we get ready for a lot of those northeast shows, one of my favorites is up in Newport. It’s a charter show, it is actually happening in a few months up in June. But Jennifer Saia has a few great charter listings that are going to be featured there and we’re excited about this spring stuff happening and can’t wait for the season to get started officially.
Also, this weekend which is going to be the very beginning of May, Denison is going to be one of the sponsors of the Air and Sea Show. So that happens here in Fort Lauderdale every year, for anybody that loves airplanes and helicopters and just cool things that fly. It’s a really special weekend. It happens actually on the beach and one of the great things about the city of Fort Lauderdale when anything cool happens here, there’s always like a boat or yacht angle. So Denison, we are officially the marine, raft up, do cool things on boats, sponsor of the Fort Lauderdale Air and Sea Show. We’re excited about that and hope to bring you guys some really cool highlights of that soon.
Now who we are. I mentioned Kathy Azuma before. You’ve seen her in clips because she is on video here sometimes like background, back-office and you don’t know maybe what she does. She is head of ,in my opinion, in many people’s opinions, the greatest closing team in the industry. I believe, and it is always hard to measure the stuff, but I believe they are responsible for closing more boats and more yachts by any single brokerage company over the last 3 years and she leads that team and she is awesome. There are other people that are there with her getting this done, obviously the yacht brokers which I’ve talked about you guys enough. The closing team I want to highlight Kathy and Marlin, LaSandra, Amy, Sara, Cheryl, Erin, Kate, Dean is in the mix.
There’s a lot of people that make the closing process hopefully very seamless and hopefully very thorough which is a really important thing because there’s a certain way to do it and the closing process is never a really fun process.
Actually, I guess it can be fun it’s exciting to buy a boat but all the behind-the-scenes paperwork, all the stuff that goes into stressful and not trustful parts of closing, really important to make that an enjoyable and stress-free process. And part of that process is just being very detail-oriented and Kathy and her team are awesome at that. They do a really good job of making sure those I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed and making sure that buyers and sellers and clients and brokers and anybody, everybody has a good safe transaction, and they’re best and they’re awesome they’re also really nice. She’s awesome, Kathy is such a good friend. She’s a good leader and she’s also a great salsa dancer.
So anyway, that’s who we are. Thank you guys so much. We’ll see you guys in May. I hope everybody gets out to a baseball game or gets on the water or does something really fun this spring. Bye.
