PATRICK: Welcome to Miami, Florida. I’m Patrick Hopkins.
MORGAN: And I’m Morgan Sandoval with Denison Yachting and welcome aboard this 2019 Ferretti 670, LEGEND.
PATRICK: In my opinion yachts between 60 and 70 feet with a proper four-star layout are the unicorns of the yachting industry. Small enough to own or operate but large enough for a captain and a crew member. Small enough to get off the dock to go for dinner but large enough to spend a week or more in the Bahamas. There are so few boats available in this particular category in the market.
Today we’re going to do things a little different. Morgan’s going to take you through the interior, I’ll be taking you through the exterior and Captain Michael has been kind enough to take us through the helm, the crew space and the engine room.
MORGAN: Welcome aboard the aptly named LEGEND.
LEGEND’s salon is extremely bright and airy and provides 360 views with so much glass and light. The light colored upholstery coupled with the dark contrasted wood makes for a very intentional design. It’s a very elegant yet comfortable seating area complete with Hi-Lo TV, speakers throughout and ample storage.
LEGEND has been captain and crew maintained and you can tell it has been impeccably cared for to the highest standard. The Ferretti 670 has an elevated dining and galley space which adds for some separation between the salon and this area. To port, you have a glass top 6-person dining table and to starboard, you have the full kitchen and galley which consists of a full fridge and freezer 4-top burner microwave, oven, dishwasher, single basin sink and plenty of storage. This open feel makes it like there’s never too many cooks in the kitchen. Now I’m going to kick it over to captain Michael who’s going to walk you through the interior helm station.
MICHAEL: Thank you Morgan. Welcome to the helm station. Here we have three oversized Simrad display units, all touch screen where I’ve got access to my charts, engine diagnostics and on the third screen, I have the radar in place. It can also be interchanged for cameras along with a depth sounder. Working our way down I’ve got my engine controls right here, Simrad autopilot dual Seakeepers, we’ve got a quick chain counter and windlass control. And just for redundancy’s sake, we’ve got extra Simrad repeaters here, zip wake the hands just fall right down to our bow and stern thruster, our helm controls and my favorite – the yacht controller. I can walk around this entire boat and be hands on the docking process at all times.
MORGAN: Thanks captain Michael. Now we’re going to head downstairs straight to the VIP stateroom. The VIP stateroom is nothing short of luxury. It offers a queen-size bed with storage below as well as hanging storage to both port and starboard. The stateroom has dual reading lights, independent AC controls, a Samsung flat screen TV and a private ensuite head which has a single basin sink, stand-up shower and a head. LEGEND actually offers two different twin staterooms. The one on the starboard side has side-by-side twins, independent AC controls, dual reading lamps, a Samsung TV a full-length storage closet and an ensuite bathroom which doubles as a dayhead for guests. Equipped with a single basin sink, stand up shower and head. The port side twin stateroom has twin bunks, full length storage closet, dual reading lamps and again the independent AC controls.
As you enter the full beam master suite you immediately feel at home. Soft carpet underfoot and huge windows, welcome you into this warm space. As far as accommodations go, you have a queen bed with a backlit headboard that faces forward to a Samsung TV. To port you have a cozy sitting area and to starboard a decorative display area that doubles as storage. Two of my favorite hidden gems in this room are the walk-in closet and the large bathroom with a huge glass stand-up shower includes a bench, single basin sink and the head. The large windows in the stateroom allow for so much natural light which has been a theme throughout this vessel. That about wraps up the interior of LEGEND. I’m going to go ahead and pass it back over to Patrick and he’ll go through the exterior.
PATRICK: Thanks Morgan. Up here on the bow, we have your stainless steel cleats, your ground tackle and your anchor locker. Followed by a dual function setup where you can have a table or this cushion for laying out. Just aft, we have our forward-facing seating and symmetrical lockers that store our covers for the windshield. Now follow me down the side decks as we head up to the flybridge.
As we come up to the flybridge you’ll notice these chairs they actually have fixed in place, so you do not have to store them anywhere else but here while underway. Just the port, you have a teak top summer galley with dual grills and a single basin sink. Just below, an isotherm refrigerator with freezer and just beneath the summer galley is replete with storage. Continuing forward and to port, you have your helm station, similar what you saw downstairs with the exception of one less screen and a little more simple layout of your controls. Overhead we have this massive hardtop that gives the captain, a ton of shade and also brings shade to your dinette which can seat 10 people. And just forward, always a crowd pleaser for those looking for their moment in the sun, the bunny pat. Just a few steps down from the cockpit, we’re here on the swim platform. While this is usually the first part and the first place your guests see and step aboard, it’s also the place you’ll spend the most time while on the hook because of exactly this storage for a jetski, a sea-bob which lives in this storage compartment that has a hydraulic lift and this retractable platform making for easy on and off with the jetski.
And just two steps up we’re here in the cockpit with the dining setting for 8 and an overhead hardtop that gives you shade and protects you from the weather. Normally at this part of the walkthrough is where we wrap but Captain Michael’s been gracious enough with his time to show us the crew space and the engine room. So follow him through this door.
MICHAEL: Thank you Patrick it’s been a pleasure to have you on board today. Although I’ve been on boats a little bit bigger and a little bit smaller, there’s something very special about LEGEND. Let’s take a look at the engine room and the crew quarters and we’ll wrap this up.
At the base of the staircase is the door to the crew head. One step down and to the right at the base landing near the bulkhead, there is a washer and dryer. All the way starboard is the crew quarters. It has a twin bed, air conditioning and a closet. Now to wrap it up follow me all the way aft to my favorite part – the engine room. All right, here we are. There are two entry points, one from the crew area the other from up in the cockpit. She’s equipped with twin MAN 1200 Motors, ZF 500 transmissions, a water maker come, in Cummins Onan 21-and-a-half kW generator and twin seakeepers. This vessel comfortably cruises at 25 knots and tops out over 30 knots. And that’s it for the engine room.
MORGAN: We hope that you had as much fun watching this walkthrough as we did making it.
PATRICK: On behalf of Morgan Sandoval, myself Patrick Hopkins, and Denison Yachting, we want to thank you for joining us aboard today. If you have any questions or would like to get aboard, feel free to contact us.
