Hi, my name’s Mike Burke with Denison Yachting, and we’re here today to take you aboard the ROCK STARS. We just ran up from the Breakers in Palm Beach and as you can see, it’s a little breezy out today, but I talked to Captain Robin to bringing us all the way up here to my favorite spot on the whole East Coast, Jupiter, Florida, my hometown. Directly behind me is the Jupiter Light. One of the last working lighthouses in the United States. The reason why I wanted to be here in Jupiter and in front of this lighthouse, because in 1981, when I moved down from Indiana, back when I was a diesel mechanic, this is where I landed. Spent 27 years so far selling boats, and this is one of my favorite spots.

84 Horizon upper aft deck

We’re here today to take you through an 84, 2017 horizon yachts called ROCK STARS. So Horizon yachts are built in Taiwan and one of the premier builders in Taiwan. And one of the reasons I love these boats is because they do everything in house for the most part. So all their woodworking is phenomenal. They’ve got the wood floors, and when you look around, the fit and finish and the soft goods on this boat are outstanding. So moving forward in front of the salon, what makes this boat super popular is that you have a country kitchen up forward where people like to congregate. You have a dining room table along with a lot of natural light. The great thing about this 80-foot yacht is it has four staterooms, five heads, and also two staterooms aft for crew. On close bridge boat, I find that the families all like to be together, the guests, the kids. You can come up here, you could watch TV while doing 20 knots. Hang out. And I find that people come together even while they’re traveling, as opposed to everybody being downstairs and the owner and the Captain being upstairs.

One of the great features about this boat, she’s an 84 footer, but she lives like a hundred footer with the outside spaces, you have the euro transom making it easy to get up and down both sides of the transom. You have a really nice stairwell going up here to the upper aft deck, and then of course you have a whole forward seating area, which is another great feature. This boat was built by a very knowledgeable owner who had had multiple boats before, and he realized how important it was to have controls on both the port and starboard side. Since this boat has a country kitchen forward, there’s no lower helmet on this boat, but what makes it great is you can run from upstairs down here. So if you are an owner operator, this boat is super easy to dock. Now that I’ve introduced you to the yacht ROCK STARS, I’m going to take you upstairs, right here, and we’re going to go up and take a look at the upper deck aft seating area. It’s one of my favorite spots on the boat.

84 Horizon Flybridge

So picture this, you pull into the exhumes and you’ve got seven or eight of your guests or family members on board, and you want to know where you’re going to be hanging out. This upper deck is a great spot. The first thing you do is get the dingy in the water, and then you go boating from there. It’s an awesome spot to hang out. This tender’s brand new. It’s a 14 foot Argo Synodic kind of a sporty looking tender, if you will. 70 horsepower Yamaha, does around 35, 40 miles an hour can ride a couple people, but that’s how you get to the sandbar. One of my favorite things about this app deck area, not only is it a great area to hang out and entertain from, but I’m a big barbecue guy and I don’t like the electric ones. This one has a propane grill on it, which is makes excellent for grilling as you know. Fridge right there, you’ve got a wet bar and some storage over there. With this high low table here and the seating you have here for the three or four folks, you remove this dinging, put some Chase lounge chairs up here. You got a great place to hang out. I’ve personally been on this boat for the Christmas boat parade and we’ve had over 25 people on this and plenty of room. Nobody was running into anybody. You had a lot of room to hang out and just enjoy yourself with family and friends.

So I’m a big fan of the enclosed fly bridge. There’s a lot of reasons why this boat really works well. First of all, when the boats at the dock, a lot of open bridge boats, it’s kind of dead space. Nobody wants to go up there. It’s too hot, whatever. But if you’re still working, you still got a few projects, you want to come up here, you want to put your computer out, some blueprints, paperwork, or you want to watch NASCAR and the kids want to watch something else downstairs. This is very usable space after the boat’s back to the dock. But on open bridge boat, you’ve got the air and the heat and the, and the temperatures. You know, it can be a fatigue factor for both the captain and your guests. This table comes down, this makes for a big seating area and you’ve got your TV over there and you’ve got a day head upstairs, so there’s really not a whole lot of need to go down while you’re traveling.

84 horizon swim platform

Moving forward in the fly bridge, we’re going to take a look at mission control here. This boat has all state-of-the-art electronics, as you might. So for some of you that might not be aware of the garment and how accurate they are, you could take a look. This actually tracked us all the way down. We went out Palm Beach Inlet, came down here, shot all those beautiful shots today earlier, breakers hotel down there in front of that, went up here at to Jupiter inlet. This is a lock Sache River over here. The lighthouse is right here where we talk. Take a look at the one in the engine room that gives you full visibility. You have your C32 ACERTS down there which pushes this boat around 20 knots. Here comes Captain Rob. He’s going to come in and check the engine room out. He’s taking a look for something. You’ve got a bow and stern hydraulic thruster, so you can lay on ’em as hard as you want. They’re not the electric ones that pop in and out. You also have zero speed stabilizers, all hydraulic state of the art. You also have floor night vision on this boat, which is excellent. This boat is loaded up. There’s not one thing needs to be added to it. So the beauty of this is you have two ways to get up to the fly bridge. You have a really nice staircase on the inside in case it’s bumpy outside, or if you want to bring up food or beverage or whatever, you can come up this way. But we’re going to jump back to the swim platform and I’m going to take you down the aft stairs.

As I step down onto this large swim platform, I just want to point out a few features here. You got this safety rail here, which we’ll pull out. So when you lower the dingy over the side, you can tie up and have easy access back here. This Euro transom allows you to come up either to port or the starboard side. You’ve got hot and cold showers in the back here, and you’ve got access to your crew and your engine room here. So if you don’t want the crew coming through to the salon, you want a little privacy at night, they can have access to here and you’ll never see them. For your owner operators, it’s just another way to get in and out of the engine room. So coming through the aft door of the swim platform, we’re coming into the cruise quarters, which on these horizon boats are very spacious and very large. We got a Captain’s quarters over here. If he’s got a mate or a wife, there can be two over here with their own private in suite head. And then we have a set of bunks over here that also has their own private suite head. So you actually have room for crew of four. Not that you need it, but this boat will run very easily with a crew of two.

84 horizon engine room

So for your owner operators, this is another great space. Your grandkids are going to love you. You’ve got a stateroom over here, you can put two in. You’ve got a stateroom over here where you can put two in. Gives you a little break, a little separation, but not too far away because right up here is the stairwell going right up to the main salon. Located right here in the stairwell is a very important secondary electronic box. I want to show you the wiring and what makes these horizons so special. Every one of these wires are labeled and coded and comes with the blueprint for easy troubleshooting check this out. So this is your DC breaker panel and again, what makes Horizon such a great boat and the quality in the fit and finish is that they have all their own in-house employees mean they’re electricians, they’re carpenters. So when you come in here, every wire’s labeled, every wire’s color coded, and they’re actually able to track this through a blueprint that comes with the boat.

So coming into the crew’s quarters, you do have a nice little galley area here with the fridge, microwave, wet bar, sink and access out so the crew can come and go as they please without bothering you up in the salon. You also do have a washer and dryer down here along with the entrance into the engine room. There’s only two things that want to make me come into this hot engine room, and that would be one if I had to check something out. But two, this room is so spacious and easy to get around. I don’t mind coming in. Back in the day, this is where I did my best work as a diesel mechanic. The standup engine rooms where you got all this room overhead is not like the engine rooms I used to work in believe me. This is actually a pleasure. But over here, you have all your chillers and your air conditioning units. Everything’s neat tucked away. Over here you have your black water machine for your toilets and your system, water maker desalination plant over there so you can make all the fresh water you want to make.

84 horizon foredeck

And these C32 ACERT with only 1800 hours are just getting broken in. And these big chrome things that you’re looking at are your mufflers and your riser system to make this boat extremely quiet when underway. Another big selling feature on these Horizon yachts is the wide, spacious walk around decks. You have a very beefy rail to hang onto. You have lighting up above the sleek, sexy lines in this boat with the windows starting here in the galley, carry all the way forward around to the bowl area. This access door here makes it easy to come in and out the galley area with another boarding door here as well. The window wraps around this galley dinette seating area, giving you full open natural light, making it very open and bright. Another feature that we have in these horizons are excellent storage. So if you look inside here, it goes all the way across to the other side. Great place for lines, fenders. Directly on top of the storage that you have from side to side is a nice sun pad along with bench seating. You also have a reverse seat up here and access to your big cleats up here.

These cleats are something you might see on 120-foot boat. Everything on this Horizon boat seems to be built to a much higher standard than an 80-foot boat warrants. You’ve got two big Maxwell Windlasses up here, and you actually have great storage down below. You have access to the windless here with the foot pedals. You also have a radio right here that you can talk to the Captain, so he can give you the thumbs up or down. You’ve got nice lighting out here. You also have a hailer over here as well. You also see one of these hailer speakers facing aft on the aft deck. So the biggest difference between this aft deck and the upper station are a couple things. Let me point them out. You got this massive overhead shade area. You’ve got this big table for eight, 10 people down here. It’s a great place to come out and have a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Or if you like a nice cigar and a glass of wine, it’s a great place to hang out. Collect your thoughts. Teak deck, teak stairs, this back area here is just to die for. I want to point out this aft wing stations over here, they have one on the starboard and the port side. If you take a look, you’ve got your bow thruster, your stern thruster, your controls, your start stop for both engines. Captain Rob used both of these stations today in docking his boat by himself. So you have these two big aft sliding doors here.

84 horizon salon

This allows you to make access to the salon, giving you lots of natural light with the extra window on the starboard side. One of the many things that Horizon does well is they combine a very large salon with the formal dining room area. Excellent lighting up above, you’ve got a beautiful settee here, doors underneath, over here on this side, you’ve got wine coolers and refrigeration, and more storage and a popup TV. Then of course, you have your access to your crew and your engine room down here on the port side. When you take a minute to really look at the size of the glass and the windows on this boat, it’s unbelievable. It lets in so much natural light. The thing I like about it is when you’re sitting on the couch, you can still see out the windows and you got great visibility. You have this one large window here, another smaller window there. Then of course, on the starboard side, you have matching double windows that goes all the way forward through the dining room. The thing I like about this dining area is very spacious, well lit. You have all your glasses up top, but you also have nice formed storage for all your dishes, all your flatware, all your China, along with all the storage that wraps around this boat. It’s unbelievable the amount of room you have. And then on the port side, right across the way here, we have a nice day head.

Follow me forward as we pass the day head and we come into what I like to think of as the entertainment area, just like in your house, where does everybody want to hang out? They want to hang out in the kitchen. They want to drink wine. Some people are cooking. You have other people over here dining. So just like the focal point at your house, the focal point on this yacht is this country kitchen. So a country kitchen basically is just a wide open layout. So you have the low counters here, you’ve got your cabinets down below. You got your refrigerator and freezers all right behind. And unlike a lot of boats, this boat actually has a pretty decent size oven down below with a microwave up top, dishwasher, trash compactor. But check out this dining area where you want to come, have a cup of coffee, read the paper, the kids can have a bowl of cereal, or you can sit up here and have lunch as you’re traveling. So this is the door that we passed earlier going forward, up to the bowl. Look at the hinges and the size of the metal. And Horizon does all this in-house too. They make these hinges. They make the handles and whatnot. This door pushes so that you can have access and walk forward to the walk around. You have the same door on the starboard side as well. That’s going to lead us downward to the stairs, to the staterooms.

84 horizon galley

As we come down below, you have the VIP forward, you have a great guest room over here with a queen bed. You have a set of bunks back there and the master aft. The first space I want to show you is here on the starboard side as a queen bed starch. We have lighting over here, a lot of natural light. You have your own TV stereo with the unsweet head and shower. So moving forward into the VIP stateroom, you’ll find that you’re going to have a lot of new best friends once they see the size of this. You’ve got massive headroom. You’ve got windows on port and starboard side, allowing a lot of natural light to come in. You’ve got storage all the way around, big TV, nice hanging closet, and again, a very large unsweet head. So we’re inside the bunk room. We have over and under bunks here. Great room for the kids. TV down below, you have an on suite over here. And all the way aft, we have the largest, most spacious stateroom. You have a full beam master with natural light on both sides, big walking closets, storage all around excellent lighting, big TV as well as a his and hers on suite aft.

84 horizon owner's suite

An area worth highlighting in this master stateroom is the on suite head, which is also full beam. So you have a door over there for him. You have one over here for her, and you have a shower in the middle. So another great feature to this master stateroom are the double doors giving you access and a large view going forward. And right next to that is an additional owners and guests, washer and dryer. So you have one in the crew and this one in the lower companionway. And that’s going to wrap up our tour today aboard the Motor Yacht ROCK STARS. We appreciate you taking a look at it, but if you do have any questions, feel free to give me a call.
