Lake Lakengren: A Paradise in Southwest Ohio

One may not typically associate Southwest Ohio with paradise, but perhaps you are not familiar with Lake Lakengren.

Lakengren is truly a rare find located just about 35 west miles of Dayton, less than an hour Northwest of Cincinnati, and close to Indianapolis. With more than 230 acres of water and 10 miles of shoreline, many unique coves, 2 1/2 miles in length, the lake is perfect for all water sports and activities – fishing, skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, and jet skiing are all allowed and enjoyed by all ages.

Beautiful homes and fun boats are great, but what makes Lakengren a true paradise is the community. There are many lake-wide community events throughout the year like the 4^th of July fireworks, fishing tournaments and boat poker runs. However, what makes Lakengren a truly special place is cruising to your friend and neighbor’s house for a bonfire on a warm summer evening, anchoring together in the no-wake/swimming zone on a sunny afternoon, or meeting up for a peaceful morning of fishing.

Memorial Lake, 4^th of July and Labor Day, in particular, are celebrated in style – parties, enjoying the water, music, friends, and family. There truly is a paradise in a sleepy little pocket of Southwest Ohio.
