56 Rio Motoryacht Walkthrough [Boat Review + Video]

Hey guys. I’m Chris Davis with Denison Yachting. We’re here in Yarmouth, Maine, about to get on board a 2019 Rio Yachts 56. These boats are built in Italy, and the current owner oversaw the build process and worked directly with Rio Yachts to pick out every fit and finish on board this boat. This 56 Rio yachts has a length over all of almost 61 feet. Her hull is 56 and she’s got about a five-foot swim platform with a hydraulic tender garage. As you can see through the track zone here, it makes springing a tender out of the tender garage very easy. About as easy as it gets with unloading your tender into the water.

Sunshade up top. These tables are really awesome. They have a filler piece that comes in to make this one large continuous piece. There’s enough space for everybody to lounge out and not be on top of each other. So another great feature of the Rio Yachts 56 is she has an exterior helm docking station. This boat is equipped by Twin Cummins, 715 horse power diesel engines with zoos pod drives. So as you can see, you have your joystick control that controls the zoos pods. This boat also has sky hook technology, which is pretty awesome. It’ll keep you in space if you’re waiting for a bridge to open or waiting at the fuel dock. It’s just a very easy and convenient way of keeping the boat in space without getting off track. So just underneath the exterior helm docking station, you have an ice maker.

Now that we’ve seen, some of the exterior. Let’s get on inside and check out the salon in the helm station. So here inside the main salon and inside the salon, there are really three key features that are, I think, separate this boat from some other ones. First one has to be this retractable exterior windshield, which with this open, it has a really nice flow from the outside to the inside. So if somebody is hanging out inside, doesn’t want to be in the sun, or just wants to have the air conditioning going, and you want to have your guests sitting out on the aft deck getting some sun, it’s a great way to really maximize your space and have it feel as open as it can be.

My second favorite feature is the retractable hard top which again, it just creates a whole other space in making the boat feel a lot more open. You can get sun in, get fresh air in. And then my third favorite feature has to be this retractable flat screen television. With a push of a button, you can have this thing come on up and, put a sports game on, or you have kids just hanging out and want to watch a show for a couple hours to get out of the sun. So the biggest reason why the owner decided to build with Rio Yachts has to be because of all the natural light that comes in through the large windows tractable sunroof on this boat as well as the one-piece windshield. That’s really the biggest feature of the boat is the natural light and windows, and it makes the boat feel two to three times bigger than it actually is. When you step on board this boat and you go down below and you sit in the living area or go out on the aft deck, you feel as though you’re actually on an 80-foot boat, which really was appealing for the owner.

As we move forward towards the helm, the boats got two 18 inch Gearin navigation displays. You have your bow thruster right here. You have your standard throttle controls. You have your engine display, and you have your joystick control for your zoos pods. The engines just have over 200 hours and all of the engine service is up to date. So now we’re going to head down below to the galley and living area.

A lot of natural light gets in through the gigantic one-piece windshield, refrigerator up top. You have an Isotherm wine refrigerator, as well as a mealy convection oven. You have all Miele appliances. So you have a Miele induction cooktop, the Miele hood, full size Miele dishwasher, which I know is great when you’re on a boat. You don’t really want to have to do any added work. So you have a large single basin, stainless steel sink. And as you can see, this galley has plenty of storage, which is awesome for a boat like this. It keeps everything off the counters and put away in its own. Just declutters the boat and gives it an overall sense of cleanliness and makes the functionality of the boat really great. And you have your electrical panel right here.

So as we move forward to the forward VIP berth has a center line queen. It’s got two reading lights on each side, which the owner actually had purchased in Maine and flew them to Italy to have them installed on his boat. So they’re actually a one of a kind feature to this boat that you wouldn’t see on any other Rio yachts. It’s got a fusion stereo system for this state room and it’s got a hanging locker on the port side as well as additional storage up top. So to starboard, you have a full head. This head right here doubles as both the day head and the en suite head to the VIP state room. It’s got a really nice custom marble sink which integrates into the shower.

So now we’re going to move all the way aft to the full beam master stateroom. As soon as you step down into the master state room, you have two hanging lockers with plenty of storage. And heading over here, same thing. We’ve got another set of cabinets with storage and one of them does include a safe to lock up valuables. You have a large king birth right here. You have these two sets of windows, which bring in a lot of great natural light. You have this nice little officey type of nook where you can sit here and either read a book or have your computer out and get some work done. All the way aft Disney master en suite fitted with marble countertops, which you’ve seen throughout a full standing shower with a rain shower head.
