Bahamas: The Road Less Traveled

Denison Yachting | February 18, 2023

Dive Into the Pure Natural Beauty of The Bahamas.

This article features photography and descriptions by Alessandro Sarno.

Alessandro Sarno was born and raised in Italy. But it was a trip to The Bahamas that changed his life. Mesmerized by the incredible blue waters, he was compelled to buy his first camera. What started out as a short vacation transformed into a deep love for both photography and for The Bahamas.

“I believe capturing a scene in a photograph elevates it into a higher dimension—to a limbo between reality and imagination. It becomes visual poetry, where words are replaced by shapes, spaces, colors, lines, light, and shadows.” His images featured here inspire me to escape the stress and crowds of everyday life onboard a boat—any boat. And I hope they have the same effect for you.

01 The Sea off New Providence North Coast

I was flying with a friend over New Providence. It was a beautiful day; the sea past the coral reef was still agitated after the storm of the previous days. It was a spectacle seeing the waves crushing from the sky.

02 Conception Island

The Bahamas from the sky are of an unspeakable beauty. I was flying fairly low from Rum Cay back to Nassau when I noticed these amazing shades of blue. Conception Island is a national park protected by BNT.

03 Airport Beach, or Navy Beach, in Eleuthera

The pinkness of the sand isn’t second to the posh Harbour Island. the beach is stunning, wild, and unspoiled and super long. A true gem.

04 Exuma Cays

The Exuma Cays see the highest concentration of private island in the entire Bahamas. This little island, which I photographed from the plane, has its own golf course. what else is there to say?

05 Cherokee Sound, Abaco

When I noticed in the distance this woman walking on a sea of silver, it almost seemed surreal to me. It looked like she was literally walking on the water.

06 Cat Island

I still wonder how I took this photo. This is just a perfect shot impossible to replicate. I waited and waited and clicked many times until I got it. The ocean seems painted; the movement of the water, makes the waves seem to be dancing. Another testimony to the beauty of The Bahamas.
