In September 2022, Denison Yachting announced the sale of a new construction 50-meter Dynamiq GTT 165, part of the Grand Turismo Transatlantic series, for which Denison yacht broker Pierre Badin represented the Buyer. This week, the highly anticipated project formally began its construction. The first step in the beginning of the new build: keel laying. This important development marks the official start to any vessel’s construction, in which the keel, which is like the “backbone of a ship” and runs down the very lowest point of the hull, starts being built. It is common to hold a keel-laying ceremony to celebrate this paramount moment in the shipbuilding process.
Pierre commented on the exciting news and shared his plans to attend the official ceremony: “Keel laying is a first milestone in the building process of a superyacht. On Monday, I will be in Antalya with the Dynamiq team to witness and celebrate this first step in the construction of my client’s 50-meter project: a full aluminium, six-cabin, economical and sexy Dynamiq GTT 165 with transatlantic range and commercial unrestricted BV classification.”
When built, this much-awaited GTT 165 will use Hull Vane technology, allowing a substantial reduction in engine size compared to steel yachts of the same size and thus an eco-friendlier yacht. She will have a top speed of over 16 knots with a range of 4,500+ nautical miles. Her six-stateroom layout will include a full-beam main deck master suite. The superyacht will also feature an impressive beach club with a pool, as well as an observation deck with incredible surroundings views. This first milestone is a momentous first step in the direction of realizing that vision.
