Last week, Denison’s Europe Charter Management Director Nicolas Fry and Director Jeremy Roche attended the first IYBA/MYBA summit, located at the Monaco Yacht Club. With only good praises, they shared with us the positive feedback they had at this informative and valuable seminar. Read on to hear all about the event.
According to Nicolas, the summit by the International Yacht Brokers Association and MYBA “was a real success.” He shared that “there were 120 members of both associations discussing the hot topics of our industry. The event was well organized by both associations, the speakers were carefully selected and brought many interesting ideas to their panel discussions.”
“On the first day, there was an interesting shipyard speed dating, where brokers had the opportunity to meet with representatives of Lürssen, Feadship, Damen Yachting, Sunreef, Baglietto, Amico, Turquoise… In the afternoon, the main topic of discussion was sustainability in yachting, then shipyard contracts and new trends for yacht design.”
“On the second day, Jeremy participated in a very interesting discussion panel about Crypto, NFTs, Digital and Virtual. He mentioned the 14 deals done with cryptocurrency since 2014 and explained how this was possible for a company like ours.”
“In the afternoon, I took part in a discussion panel about The Addendum Game with Michael Moore, Nicolas Valin, and Darrell Hall. I explained the importance of addendums to add flexibility to our charter agreements, especially during COVID times to postpone charters and save our business.”
“There were other interesting discussions about Marketing Strategies, Contracts, KYC, Professional standards, Off the Beaten Track explorations, and more.”
Denison is honored to have been included in the first-ever IYBA/MYBA Summit at the Monaco Yacht Club. We look forward to next year!
