Born in Torez, Ukraine, Alla Botvina’s journey has taken her from Eastern Europe to the Pacific Northwest and into the world of luxury yachting. Immigrating to the U.S. with her family in 1993, she initially pursued a career in law, earning a Bachelor’s in Business Management with a focus on criminal law and working as a paralegal in Seattle. However, her love for the water led her to leave the legal field behind and dive into the yachting industry.
Alla began as a deckhand in Seattle before moving to Florida to fully immerse herself in luxury yachting. Over 16 years, she rose to the position of 1st Mate aboard some of the world’s most prestigious yachts, including those built by Lürssen, Feadship, and Christensen. Her career took her to exclusive destinations like France, Italy, Greece, Alaska, and the Virgin Islands, where she honed her expertise in yacht maintenance, navigation, and trip planning.
Returning to the Pacific Northwest, Alla transitioned into yacht brokerage, leveraging her vast industry experience to help clients navigate yacht ownership. She also indulges her passion for restoration, owning two boats—a 1953 Shain Monk and a Tollycraft—one a restoration project, the other a liveaboard.
When not assisting clients or restoring boats, Alla enjoys cold water plunging, hiking, and spending time with her Siberian Husky, Layla. Her dedication, hard work, and love for the sea make her an invaluable advisor in the luxury yachting world.
