Hi, this is Nick Deuyour with Denison Yachting, and today we’re going to show you aboard the lovely all new Beneteau Gran Turismo 41. Let’s come take a look.
This is an all new design with Beneteau. As you can see, it’s beautiful sheer line on the water. Gorgeous windows on the hull side there. Really substantial tall stainless steel rails and a nice deep gunnel give you a secure footing when you’re walking up to the foredeck.
The first thing you notice about this boat is all the light that comes in to the helm in the cockpit areas. Whole boats flooded with light with a massive sunroof that’s open. We’ll talk about that later. And just walking aft, you board onto a very large and convenient swim platform that goes up and down. It’s like a teak beach and you’ve got your sun pad area for lounging out in the sunny days.
What’s also nice about this boat, it’s got air conditioning in the cockpit. It heats and cools so you can enclose this entire cockpit up and on those blustery San Francisco days, you can actually get heating in this whole area. You know, daylight today where there’s some fog belt rolling under the Golden Gate Bridge, we get free air conditioning. You don’t need it. So come on aboard.
You’ve got this fantastic cockpit layout with seating for about eight people comfortably. Beautiful teak table folds out and easy access with the all new GT 41, they’ve moved the grill into the cockpit, hot and cold. You’ve got an ice maker down below, large trash storage, and there’s ample storage under all the seating. We’ve also optioned this vote with the synthetic teak feature, which really pops. You’ve got a nice, convenient 12-volt fridge right here, right off the helm, and take a look at this helm.
You’ve got basically your helm seat is center, which is very, very unique to the GT 41. It offers fantastic visibility, co-pilot seat, and a fun little walkthrough right here, Beneteau. They, you know, number one builder of boats. They’re listening to their clients every step of the process. They’re designing some really cool features here.
Probably my favorite feature on the boat. Let’s talk about the joystick. When you’re coming in for docking, having the joystick, at your fingertips, push of a button. Do you want the boat to turn and twist? You twist and the boat responds. You want to go sideways? Push the joystick sideways. And guess what? We’re moving sideways. About 90% of all of the anxiety around boating, as we know, is docking, right? So if we can alleviate, all that anxiety, which the joysticks give you all that confidence, you’re going to spend more time on the boat, you’re going to make more memories with friends and family, and you’re going to be using your boat frankly, more often. That’s really what Beneteau’s experience is all about.
Another thing that you notice, is this massive sunroof. I don’t know the exact square footage, but it’s got to be in the neighborhood of 70 square feet. It really transforms the boat in about 20 seconds, you can open this thing up, bring in a ton of ventilation through the side windows as well, which is a nice new standard feature on the all new GT 41.
So we’ve also got the valve thruster there as an option from the factory, and that’s going to give you the added assistance when it comes to docking San Francisco Bay. We get a little bit of wind, it gets a little erratic, and so this is going to give you all the confidence you need. You can see the air conditioning ports here at the helm, giant Garmin screen that’s got all the Volvo interface, your mapping, GPS plotting, autopilot. Everything’s run through this touchscreen here. And you also have a cool Zipwake feature, which is an automated trim tab assistance, and you set it and forget it, and it really is going to give you that optimal planting attitude of your bow through the water and runs the boat very, very efficiently.
So obviously down below this is outfitted with two cabin, single head. What’s great about this companion way is this is all your access to your switching. You’ve got thermostats here for the air conditioning generator start. Everything’s conveniently hidden behind here, all your breakers. So, and there’s even a lockout. Which is a nice feature so kids can’t mess around with all the electronics. Nice fusion stereo, really sweet stereo system on the boat. And these are those hall windows we talked about. It’s very nice to be out on the water and, and be able to be down below in a boat and see the water line. It’s helpful for many.
There’s also a lot of light pouring in through the overhead. Skylight going, giving you that atrium effect. Down here, I did mention it’s two cabin, but we also do have the convertible salon table into a birth as an option, so you can actually sleep six people on this boat in a pinch if needed.
So alongside the evolution of the propulsion systems, again, this one’s got the out drives with joystick IPS on the GT 45, the bigger version. But what that allows you to do is actually move the propulsion systems further aft in the boat. You don’t need as big of an engine room, and that actually affords you much bigger space.
Check out this guest cabin here. It’s a full beam guest cabin. Large 6’6″ headroom in the mattresses. It’s made up into a full size birth right now, so that’s nice for a couple. And obviously nice privacy, good standing headroom for changing. This is a really sweet aft cabin.
Right here at the foot of the companionway is your day head very spacious. You’ve got the nice basin sink here, storage above and below. Really cool factory soap dispenser there, ventilation, which is great. All of this interior is standard walnut interior. It’s got a very cool, lighter look than some of the previous GTs. And if I step in here, I’m six foot on a good day, depending on the shoes I’m wearing, but if I step into this shower, I’ve got adequate head room about 6’6′ in a separate stall. Shower with glass door. There’s a toilet in here. Which is electric with a macerator and you’ve got a nice bench seat above the toilet for a seated shower. I don’t even have that in my house.
So nice galley set up here. And you’ve got the LACD cabinets with storage above. You’ve got microwave. There’s a TV that mounts here and storage behind. All with drawers down below that soft close, nice receptacle bin. Good size there, and your refrigeration directly across from your convertible dinette.
So up forward is probably going to be your primary cabin. This boat is actually wired with television, which you can mount to the bulkhead here, and you’ve got both port and starboard hanging lockers, Cedar line, your own fusion stereo system. So you can dedicate a zone just for this cabin that’s in addition to the rest of the boat and what’s going on there with the party outside. Nice storage. Below this raised V berth and take a look at this walk around space. I mean, in a 41-foot boat, you would think it would be a lot tighter in here, but you’ve got a lot of room for changing and getting up into the mattress. You’ve got cell phone charging and the 12 volt charging plugs up here and reading lights. And you of course got your overhead exit hatch. You’ve got the whole side windows with ventilation. And of course this is outfitted with reverse cycle heat and air conditioning with ducting above, so a pretty nice primary suite on a 41-foot boat.
So one of the major benefits of the boat is the hull shape really. And if you think about it, the GT’s been around for 10 years now, and Beneteau is actually has this proprietary air step technology. And all that means is there’s their air ducts in the side of the hull. And when you’re running the boat, the air actually gushes through these air ducts and is specifically placed on the aft portion of the boat. And it gives you a cushion of air that you’re riding on. What that translates into is fuel efficiency performance, but really stability through the water. I mean, we were out today and just doing all sorts of s-curves and lateral waves and a confuse state in the boat track like a jet ski. And that’s all due to the air step technology.
Another cool feature that Beneteau actually just launched, speaking of technology is Synapse. Now Synapse is their proprietary app and it’s essentially like a nest for your boat. It’ll track bilge pumps and state of charge on your batteries and what’s in your diesel tanks, what percentage of fuel you have water aboard, and you can add, you know, other sensors here and there. But you can log in, it’ll geo-fence the boat. So hopefully no one takes the keys and without your permission, but you always know where your boat’s located and you always know that it’s turnkey. It’s another cool feature that Beneteau gives their customers as part of a tremendous value for this boat.
So if you’re looking for entertaining friends, family, I’m talking to you. This is the boat you need to be looking at. Once again, this has been Nick Deuyour with Denison Yachting.
