Denison Yachting is pleased to announce the sale of a new construction 35-meter Van der Valk yacht, named PROJECT SAMBA. Will Noftsinger of Denison Yachting represented the Buyer in the sale.
PROJECT SAMBA will be completely custom-built and designed for the client by Diana Yacht Design and Ginton Naval Architects, with both the interior and exterior design by Guido de Groot. According to Noftsinger, some of the features of the 298-gross-ton aluminum tri-deck yacht include five cabins with on-deck owners suite, twin MAN engines to Tier 4 US emissions, Zero Speed stabilizers, sauna and complete beach club, transformer pad on swim platform, generous crew quarters with captain on deck behind the pilothouse, and an engineer cabin aft. Her fast displacement hull and MAN 1450 hp diesels will allow for a 17-knot top speed.
Proud to have found the perfect vessel for his client, Noftsinger shared his experience on the process: “When we set out, we were looking for the quality build that is always associated with the Northern European yards coupled with the style that we could get from Italy or Turkey. To make what my client wanted happen, we had to build a custom yacht at a yard that would do exactly that, which is somewhat of a rarity in this size range. We traveled to a lot of ship builders and toured countless yards, checking out construction methods and yard culture. Van der Valk just clicked in a major way with my clients, as I had suspected they would. When they arrived for the yard tour, Yoeri at Van der Valk had my clients’ country flag flying tall as they pulled up. That, along with the family-owned feeling and excitement, as well as the eagerness to customize and deliver exactly what my clients wanted, ultimately played the pivotal role. Sitting with the master Guido de Groot and drawing out different hardtops, window location, and style, as well as the ability to increase and decrease the yacht’s length and superstructure placement was incredible. It was an amazing 12-month journey.”
“Van der Valk yachts exude quality and they have been racking up design awards in their class at an impressive rate,” Noftsinger continued. “A lot of time, effort, and care went into every detail that was selected for this yacht. She’s going to be absolutely stunning and feature loads of amenities that will set the bar for yachts to come at her size range. She’s quite impressive coming in at 298 gross tons. She will be a phenomenal vessel for her current owner and those to come down the line. She will feature an open-air upper salon, massive aft deck space, and much more, in addition to features that every yacht like her needs, such as extra washer and dryer accommodations and beyond generous crew quarters. There’s just a lot of thought that went into planning every single possible detail of this yacht and all of us couldn’t be more excited. It’s been a pleasure to work with an owner who consistently seeks out guidance and expert advice, who also incorporates what he learns into the build.”
Head of Sales at Van der Valk, Yoeri Bijker emphasized some key features of the new build project: “The proven hull design and naval architecture platform allows us to offer the choice between a full or fast displacement vessel. Using the engineering packages and part of the cutting files generates significant cost synergies yet allows for an entirely different look and feel. It’s a highly efficient way of building that provides clients with exceptional freedom to customize their yacht above the waterline. Everything you see on the renderings for Project Samba has been chosen by the owners as they implement their own style and make a statement of personal taste.”
PROJECT SAMBA has an estimated delivery date of June 2025.
