Denison Yachting is proud to be a platinum sponsor for the 2023 ILYA Championship Regatta on Lake Geneva, taking place August 16-19. The six-day event will include 27 scheduled races with 800 participating athletes sailing 200+ boats. Denison yacht broker Michael Bach is leading the partnership and Denison charter specialists Rose Jolis and Eva Hiebert will be attending the event to meet with clients and provide information.
The ILYA (Inland Lake Yachting Association) has served for 125 years as a leading organizer and advocate of amateur yacht racing on the inland lakes of the Midwest. “Our world-famous scows are perfect for lake sailing,” the association shares on its website, “and tough competition has produced more than our share of international winners in all manner of sailing competition.” ILYA focuses on sailing education, safety, top-caliber racing, and on-water fun.
Michael, who was recently awarded IYBA Sailboat Broker of the Year, commented: “As a native Mid-Westerner, I am fully aware that most boaters/sailors from this region are aware of ‘bareboating’ opportunities and have experienced some sort of holiday on a self-chartered vessel. Our hope, at an event like this, is that Denison can enlighten this demographic that there are even more levels of charter–crewed charter, where guests can experience a much more luxurious level of yachting. Our mission is to point out destinations and vacations that are within reach for many of the families and friends participating at the ILYA annual regatta at Lake Geneva.”
Dave Berg, the executive director of ILYA, shared his enthusiasm to have the yachting brand involved in their annual regatta: “We are very excited for our inland sailors to learn about the Denison experience, especially the charter possibilities. We’re looking forward to a thrilling few days.”
