Benetti Yachts
Founded in 1873, Benetti is one of the oldest luxury shipyards in the world. Benetti builds semi-custom composite yachts from 93′ to 145′ and custom steel and aluminum superyachts starting at 154'. Azimut Yachts acquired Benetti’s management in the early 1980s, forming the Azimut Benetti Group, the world’s largest shipyard in terms of yachts produced.
About Benetti Yachts
Lorenzo Benetti founded Benetti Yachts in 1873. Benetti Shipyard is home to one of the oldest yacht-building yards in Europe. After Lorenzo’s passing, his sons Gino and Emilio took over the company and renamed it Fratelli Benetti.
Benetti began building wooden boats used for local and international trade; however, the company shifted direction after World War II, and started producing pleasure crafts made from steel. Benetti builds composite megayachts ranging from 93 to 164 feet and fully-custom steel and aluminum superyachts from 154 to over 180 feet. In the early 1980s, Azimut acquired Benetti’s management, forming the Azimut Benetti Group, the world’s largest shipyard in terms of yachts produced.
