Merritt’s Boat & Engine Works is a family-owned-and-operated company founded by Franklin (Roy) and Ennis Merritt in 1948 in Pompano Beach, Florida.

The boat yard was started to maintain the Merritt family charter boats, but their reputation of quality work and friendly customer service grew the company. In 1995, Merritt began building boats under the leadership of sons, Buddy and Allen. The 37-foot boats were built to catch tuna fish.

Merritt has undergone many changes since its origin, including a fleet ranging up to 86 feet. Merritt fishing boats are equipped with many luxurious amenities to provide a comfortable fishing experience.

Well-respected for boat building, services, and repair, Merritt has expanded its operation to include Merritt Boat & Engine Works Brokerage, Merritt Marine Supply, and Smith-Merritt Insurance, making it a one-stop shop for all things marine.
