The Virgin Islands are a spectacular group of islands located in the Caribbean. Spread over 133 square miles, the islands will leave you with plenty of places to discover. Boasting beautiful beaches and pristine water, a Virgin Islands Yacht Charter is one of the most popular trips.
DAY 1
Embark in St Thomas. After settling in, meeting your crew and a quick safety briefing, head to Maho Bay for a late lunch and some wonderful snorkelling. Spend the afternoon relaxing on and in the water and enjoy dinner at anchor under the stars.
DAY 2
After breakfast, make the short journey from Maho Bay to Whistling Cay. The clear waters make this a snorkeler’s paradise with an abundance of sea life and beautiful coral formations. Head back to the yacht for lunch and in the afternoon sail on to Leinster Bay and Watermelon Cay, either relax onboard or go ashore where there are plenty of hiking opportunities.
DAY 3
Sail on to Coral Bay, it describes itself as the ‘other’ town on St John as it is much quieter than the island’s capital, Cruz Bay. This is where the Dutch first settled on the island and although there isn’t much to see of the town’s colonial past, this natural harbor is a great place for a stroll, or a hike for those feeling energetic.
DAY 4
Head to the busier side of the island and Cruz Bay. Enjoy a day on the water, and in the afternoon head ashore for a roadside drink at Woody’s Bar. Anchor near Caneel Bay for the night.
DAY 5
Cruise back over to St Thomas and drop anchor near Magens Bay for a day of fun on the water. Magens Bay is home to plenty of beach bars for some fun in the evening.
DAY 6
Anchor at Christmas Cove in Great St James for yet more excellent snorkelling. Great St James is also home to the famous Pizza Pi pizza restaurant where homemade pizzas are delivered to your yacht! Anchor here for the night.
DAY 7
In the morning, sail back to St Thomas and, after breakfast, snorkel with turtles at Turtle Cove. Then, move to Water Island and anchor off Honeymoon Beach. Here, you can chill on the beach or rent golf carts and explore the island. Spend the night at anchor and enjoy a last dinner under the Caribbean sky.
DAY 8
Enjoy one last swim before heading back to St Thomas for disembarkation at noon.
