“Avanti” is a highly-customized 2002 75 Hatteras MY Sport Deck that has $600,000 in extras and upgrades. Her first owner traded up to an 80 Hatteras MY, and Avanti has been with her present owner since 2008. She has always been captain run. Take a look at this impeccably maintained motoryacht:
My name is Steve Messenger and I’m with Denison Yachts. Today we’re going to take you onboard Avanti. It’s a 75 Hatteras, located here in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Boarding is easy, thanks to the MarQuipt ladder located here on the port side. Now that we’re onboard Avanti, here on the lower helm, you’ll find a banquet for the captain and crew while underway.
The electronics include a loudhailer, forward-looking sonar, two GPSs, chartplotter, two radar systems, back-up camera and night vision camera. She’s also equipped with a hydraulic bow thruster and Naiad roll stabilizers. All of the electronics found here at the lower helm are also available to the captain on the bridge. Let’s go take a look.
Here we are on the bridge. I think you’ll find this to be one of the best entertaining spaces on the entire boat. You’ll notice we have a full enclosure, it’s all easy to see why. there’s a 3-zone air conditioning system up here totaling 30,000 BTUs. The benefit for you, of course, is that it will keep it really, really cool on a hot day.
Going forward, we have the helm. As I said before, the upper helm and lower helm are identical in terms of electronics. The captain has some really comfortable high quality Stidd chairs, and then this is the factory-installed specialty bar called the Key Bar. So the Key Bar is not only a wet bar, it’s also a bottle storage area, there’s a refrigerator and we have a deep freezer over here as well.
Moving aft from the Key Bar, you’ll find L-shaped seating on both the port and starboard side with custom tables. You’ll also find televisions on both the port and starboard side, and they’re part of a $200,000 audiovisual upgrade.
Moving aft on the bridge is the outdoor space, and you’ll find on the starboard side, there’s a MarQuipt davit that has a 1,500-pound capacity, and it’s all recently been rebuilt. On the port side there’s an electric grill, and then the centerpiece is a Jacuzzi hot tub with this really cool custom rotating bar so you can entertain looking forward or aft.
We moved from the flybridge, now we’re here in the salon. Let me start by showing you the aft deck first. The aft deck is a comfortable enclosed area with a bench seat, and it also has stairs that lead to the sport deck, which is basically a swim platform on the back of the boat.

Moving forward now we’re in the salon. The first thing you’ll notice is all the abundance of natural light from the giant windows on both sides. The port side has a custom leather couch. On the starboard side are two custom armchairs and a TV cabinet with the TV hidden inside. On the port side here is the dining table with seating for four.
Before I show you the galley, here on the starboard side is a dinette that can easily fit four people. Located here on the port side is the galley. You’ll see it’s really big, has a granite countertop and all of the amenities that any cook would ever want to make a full course meal.
Moving forward from the galley, most of the staterooms are accessed through this companionway located here at the lower helm. Let’s go take a look.
Now that we’re on the stateroom level, you’ll find the day head on the starboard side, which can also be accessed from the VIP stateroom forward.
On the port side you’ll find the guest stateroom with over/under berth and an ensuite head. Moving aft, you’ll find the VIP stateroom. It’s got an ensuite head and is located midship.
We’re back here in the main salon. Here on the starboard side is access to the master stateroom. Let’s go take a look. Before we go into the master stateroom, located on the port side on the same level, is another stateroom that has over/under berths and an ensuite head.
So here we are in the master stateroom. Starting on the port side you’ll find located forward is a giant walk-in closet, cedar-lined, tons of storage on both the port and starboard side, and a king-size bed. You’ll find in the forward section of the master stateroom on the starboard side is where the head is. It has his and her sinks and it also has a giant shower with a bathtub.
So here we are in the engine room, we’re located midship. This boat is powered by Caterpillar 3412E diesel engines, and they’re rated at 1,400 horsepower each.
