Trip Offers Inside Look at Caribbean Yacht Charters

March 2, 2017 10:29 am

This past weekend, Denison Charter Broker Jackie Guenther participated in a “Fam Trip” in the French West Indies onboard MY Touch, a 120′ luxury charter yacht

Familiarization trips such as this give your trusted charter broker an opportunity to inspect a vessel, its crew, and amenities from a firsthand perspective.  A mini charter of sorts, the captain and crew deliver guest-quality service, showing off the talents that leave their guests with an unforgettable experience. From the chef’s culinary delights, to the tender and toys, to the informed instruction and level of service delivered by the crew, a Fam Trip allows a level of inspection not achieved from a simple walk-through.

In addition to getting to these benefits, exploring a sample itinerary firsthand is invaluable.  Each stop offers new venues, anchorages, and establishments to recommend, or be avoided. The captain of a great charter vessel will know all the best-kept secrets, and being able to speak to these in an informed manner as a broker can only enhance the planning process.

For this trip, guests arrived at the yacht in St. Maarten on Saturday, Feb, 25 and it departed immediately for St. Barth’s. Chef Michael Boyd prepared dinner onboard the yacht, which was followed by an evening out at popular charter client destination “Le Tin” bar and restaurant.

The next morning, after breakfast onboard, we took a tender around the anchorage and saw some of the other stunning yachts that were anchored nearby before exploring the port in St. Barth’s. We then returned to yacht for an afternoon swim, jacuzzi, and lunch. The yacht then departed for Anguilla, where we anchored overnight in Crocus Bay.

The following day, after another delicious breakfast prepared by Chef Boyd, we enjoyed a beach and toys day in Crocus Bay complete with snorkeling, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, tubing and Seabobs, as well as a special beach BBQ lunch. That evening, we returned to the yacht for cocktail hour, jacuzzi before dressing in fancy evening attire for dinner.

On our final morning of the trip, we went for a refreshing morning swim before breakfast onboard. The yacht then departed for St. Maarten, arriving in Simpson Bay in time for the 11:30 a.m. bridge opening. We enjoyed one final lunch onboard before departing for the airport.
