37 Back Cove

The Back Cove 37 is perfect for families who are looking to cruise the open water in Downeast style, so much so that Ted thought it’d be a great fit for one of his clients, a client you may have heard of: Ken Read. Renowned as one of the finest sailors on the planet, having won more than 40 world, North American, and national championships, Ken recently enjoyed the comforts of his new yacht while taking in the premier Volvo Ocean Race, an event the veteran sailor has certainly entered more than once.

“… I can say, at the age of 55 (or whatever I am!), I think my final Volvo as a sailor is probably behind me,” Ken said during a May interview with sail-world.com. “And I’m having fun being a spectator and second guessing everything that everybody does on the water, like they used to do to us all the time.”

Back on the 37, Ken will have the benefit of a comfortable cabin below deck that is sure to accommodate he and his guests – including girlfriend Melissa Santaniello (pictured below w/ Ken) – for weeks on end. On deck, the single level cockpit sole stretches from her transom to the companionway, making her the ideal design for any on-the-water activity, from fishing and swimming to entertaining and lounging with friends.

BACK COVE 37

Practical features, usability and low maintenance are all hallmarks of the Back Cove brand and have continued to grow its popularity since the company’s launch in the early 2000s. Other notable features include: wide walk-around decks, ample anchor locker storage space, beautifully molded parts, smart electrical/mechanical systems, quiet running hull, economical burn rates and plenty more.

Congrats, Ken and Melissa!
