Biography

Jace grew up in the Colorado Rockies and Black Hills of South Dakota; the mountains were home. But still, after countless hours of listening to Jimmy Buffett’s lyrics of life on and around the sea and attending every Jimmy Buffett concert he could get to, he knew he had to experience that life for himself.

After four years pursuing a business degree at the University of South Dakota, Jace took off for the West Coast and landed in Marina del Rey. He bought a used 25’ Coronado sailboat, named it “Crunchy Granola Suite”, and taught himself how to sail it. Not one to mess around, the very first time he raised the sails, he and his ever-faithful dog Tasha were off to Catalina Island. And that was it! He never looked back. With Tasha at his side, Jace spent the next two years aboard living his own adventures on and around the sea.

Twins on the way changed Jace’s direction and he later sold his own boat but he knew he could never give up his passion for that life and he decided to pursue a career as a yacht broker.

Twenty three years later, with twins Saana and Kalle now graduated from college and his youngest, Saku, a freshman in college Jace can often be found out paddle boarding on the never ending waterways surrounding Jupiter, Florida or back in the mountains skiing and hiking with friends and family. He’s still living his dream and finding joy in helping other people realize theirs. He has been involved in over 30 new build motor yacht projects, dozens of international shipyard visits, and countless brokerage transactions ranging from 55’ to 205’ with buyers and sellers whom many have become his life-long friends.

“This is a business of relationships and trust,” Jace is quick to point out, “not only with clients but with the industry as a whole. It makes the entire process of buying and selling yachts a rewarding career along with an opportunity to meet and work with a lot of fascinating people that share the very same interests that landed me in Marina del Rey 25 years ago.”
