Australia and New Zealand – Yachting Destinations

Australia is the sixth largest country in the world. Though she is about the same size as the 48 mainland US States and 50% larger than Europe, she has the lowest population density in the world – only two people per square kilometer. From the magnificent coral reefs of Queensland, to the historical ports of Tasmania, Australasia is guaranteed to provide a taste of something rare. One of Australia’s most remarkable natural gifts, the Great Barrier Reef is blessed with the breathtaking beauty of the world’s largest coral reef. The reef is comprised of over 3000 individual reef systems and coral cays and literally hundreds of picturesque tropical islands. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven wonders of the natural world. It is larger than the Great Wall of China and the only living thing on earth visible from space. The 74 Islands of the Whitsundsays is located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The lush greens of the tropical rainforest of Eungella National Park begin south of the Whitsundays, meandering north through the cane fields of Proserpine and diversifying west to the reds, browns and greens of Collinsville. Sydney is Australia’s most vibrant city from the famous harbor and opera house to the surfing beach at Bondi. She is a cosmopolitan mecca with attractions for all tastes. The Hawkesbury River, just north of Sydney, winds for over 50 miles inland through spectacular sandstone cliffs, small towns, uninhabited islands and woods. Fraser Island stretches over 123 kilometers in length and 22 kilometers at its widest point. It is the largest sand island in the world. Fraser island is a place of exceptional beauty, with its long uninterrupted white beaches flanked by strikingly colored sand cliffs, and over 100 freshwater lakes. Ancient rainforests grow in sand along the banks of fast-flowing, crystal-clear creeks. The immense sand blows and cliffs of colored sands are part of the longest and most complete age sequence of coastal dune systems in the world and they are still evolving. Tasmania is the 26th largest Island in the world. She offers world class fly fishing and golf courses. Stop by road side stall with lush berries, shuck oysters fresh from the sea, sample fine Belgian truffles or pick up a bottle of bubbly from wine country so fine, it’s rumored to be second only to Champagne itself. Tasmania is the ideal destination to get up close with native Australian animals. See wombats, wallabies, pademelons, endemic birds and more. It’s also the one place on earth you’ll find a Tasmanian devil in the wild.

The New Zealand is equally as spectacular. The country holds an ancient, mystic charm. The geography is diverse and stunning. With more than 15,000 kilometres of coastline, New Zealand knows all the moods of the sea. On the east coast the Pacific Ocean plays along bays and beaches where white sand, surf and calm harbours provide enormous scope for fun. On the west coast the Tasman Sea, notoriously wild, breaks against rugged cliffs, weathered rocks and long, soulful stretches of black sand. Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf, Coromandel and the Bay of Islands is dappled with off shore islands and stunning beaches. The south island offers the protected waterways and spectacular scenery of Marlborough and Milford Sounds as well as the natural beauty of the Abel Tasman. New Zealand also offers the very best in world class cuisine and wine, which means whether you charter a bareboat, crewed, power boat or sail boat or a luxury yacht, you’re guaranteed to enjoy it in style.

“Ari is an excellent communicator and kept us apprised of everything.”

Thank you Denison Yachting for selling our Meridian Yacht. You have an excellent yacht sales and marketing network to share the listing far and wide. The entire process from listing through closing and delivery could not have been smoother and more pleasant. I am especially grateful to your Seattle yacht broker Ari Sherr. Due to the pandemic we expected it might be a hard time to sell a boat. We were prepared to list it at a much lower price.  We were surprised when Ari suggested a price higher than what we purchased it for 5 years ago. Want… [read more]
