Purchasing our boat has been an experience that could have been a floating or sinking disaster except for our broker Glen Appelbaum. We had previously owned boats and always purchased from one broker who had retired to Arizona (we don't think it was because of us) when we finally decided to sell all, move on to a boat and do the things we had been putting off. Glen helped with our choice and guided us through numerous showings from Miami to Newport. He is calm, realistic with great sense of humor and extremely polite concerning other brokers who we would have thrown overboard if given the chance. He kept us focused and continued to point out what we needed not what we wanted because it happened to be available.

He guided us through the process of offers, counter offers and surveys for more than a year with patience helping us achieve our ultimate goal of a solid cruising home.,  Moved us on when several boats unexpectedly failed survey. Glen was always available, regardless of day or time, which it turns out is unique in the world of yacht sales and brokers who don't want to travel more than a city block from their posh office. Glen intimately knew the boats we were looking at, their sailing characteristics  their weak points and their strengths. Glen was and continues to be a valuable resource even after completing the sale. Glen is a broker of integrity and honesty.

After a year of searching and travel our Island Packet is fulfilling our every expectation and more. The only down side of the process is that we do not get to see Glen on our weekly search. Thank you Glen for all you have done.

To put it as simple as possible, Glen made every step of the boat buying experience comfortable. Looking for our first “big boat” Glen guided us through every step of the process. Glen is relaxed, open, honest, and went out of his way for us, including managing some of the process while on vacation. I never once felt pressured, or that he took sides for the buyer or the seller, but rather facilitated the best for all. Glen is not only a broker, he is a good person. For us, not only did we get a great boat out of the deal, we also made a friend. We would recommend Glen to anyone, especially anyone wary of the boat buying process.
