My name is Carl P Blackwood. I am a bit addicted to boats, at this moment I own 8 boats of various sizes & makes. I guess you could call me a connoisseur of things that float or simply a boat nut. Don’t matter. In 2008 my wife & I set out to purchase a larger boat that we could possibly retire on or simply enjoy. Honestly, at the time I was sort of leery about dealing with a broker (I am terrified of salesmen). Then I came across a man named Rodney Robertson. This man was not pushy, in fact he was very patient (I am not exactly the easiest to sell to). Through all of the "hunting", questioning, negotiating, surveying, renegotiating, sea trials, purchase and actual transfer from Florida to Texas, he some how kept me sane and made what could have been a horrible experience pleasant. I am pretty rough around the edges & my wife is quite the opposite and somehow he kept us both happy and treated us with great respect. I have, in Florida, not only a knowledgeable broker but also a friend in Rodney.
Everything he said he would do, he did and followed through until the deal was complete. His honesty (whether I wanted to hear it our not) was refreshing in a world where salesman tend to blow a lot of smoke. Whether my wife & daughter like it or not, I am not finished buying or selling boats, but I am finished looking for a broker who can & will help me. Thank you Rodney, you are stuck with me for life.
I hope this letter will adequately convey my sincere thanks and appreciation to you for your outstanding efforts assisting me with the purchase CHINA MOON. She has successfully delivered from Fort Lauderdale to Freeport, Texas. Should you desire to use this letter as a letter of recommendation, or provide my contact information as a reference, please do.
Honesty and integrity are an important part of any commercial transaction, yet they are qualities rarely found to the degree that you employ them. Our transaction, due to the long distance nature of this sale & purchase, required that I depend upon you for many activities normally handled personally by the buyer. Your willingness to travel great distances, take numerous detailed photos of prospective vessels, provide your honest assessment as to the condition and value of the vessels were invaluable to me.
Your persistence in arranging and organizing many pre and post-sale services were similarly so important to this purchase and you handled every one professionally and represented my interests to the fullest. By helping me coordinate the boat survey, engine survey, vessel prep and wrapping, along with assisting me with activities which extended well beyond the closing date (i.e. securing additional documentation for Texas state registration requirements of a foreign vessel), were very important services I would not have expected from a broker post-sale. Thank you so much for that.
It is rare to find a broker whose priority is less focused on the sale rather than the client’s needs. Rodney, I could not have hoped to have found an individual who would represent my interests fully and devote himself to finding the right vessel for me. Not only have you exceeded my expectations as a broker, you have become someone I am proud to call a friend. Thank you very much for your outstanding efforts and service in helping me find CHINA MOON.
Please be advised that I have had the privilege to work with Rodney Robertson for the past four years on a number of yacht purchases, sales and proposed proposed purchases on vessels from 60' to over 100' in length, with such brands as Lazarra, Broward, Viking, Horizon, and many others. The most recent yacht sales that Rodney very professionally and very competently handled for me was the motor yacht, Sapphire Lady, a 72' Viking motor yacht.
Rodney has always exhibited the utmost professionalism, competency and integrity in all of his dealings and representations for me, and I would highly recommend, even urge, anyone interested in the purchase or sale of a large, expensive motor yacht to utilize his services to the fullest extent possible in the procurement, negotiation and purchase phases of a major vessel.
There have been many, many occasions in which Rodney has traveled to other cities and locales for me to view, photograph and throughly inspect a yacht I had an interest in acquiring. I am a very critical and demanding customer and yacht owner, and have dealt with numerous other yacht brokers from New York to both coasts of Florida; none compare to the efficiency, competency and effectiveness as that displayed by Rodney on numerous occasions for me.
We have known Rodney Robertson for over a year now. In this time he has served as our yacht broker and inevitably our friend. We worked with Rodney in purchasing our 62’ Symbol Motor Yacht. During this time we have had many experiences with Rodney and the yachting community. Our experiences have given us a significant amount of time to get to know Rodney. Rodney is simply, the best.
There are certain qualities that are to be looked for in yacht brokers. Rodney is attentive to his clients as evident when we worked with him. As for being knowledgeable about the yachting industry, Rodney knows the industry inside and out. In today’s world it is difficult to find someone who is both professional but reaches his or her clients on a personal level. These people are few and far between, but in our experience, we have found this exact type of person in Rodney. When it comes to finding the ideal person to serve as a yacht broker, look no further than Rodney.
As a yacht broker, Rodney will serve as a guide to the yachting community. Acquainting you with the different types of yachts and boats that you encounter. He is a teacher, helping you to learn about the various different systems onboard many of today’s yachts and boats. He is a representative, representing you the best way possible to all those you come in contact with. He is an analyst, helping you to analyze various situations that you encounter, and guiding you to the best outcome. But most of all, Rodney is a friend. Rodney is there by your side when you need his help and that makes him one of the best.
Without hesitation, we would highly recommend Rodney Robertson to anyone interested in looking to buy or sell in the yachting industry. Rodney will always be there to guide you. There can be no denying, Rodney knows what he is doing and that small fact helps his clients such as ourselves more than we may ever know. We could not imagine having ever chosen another broker than Rodney, if we had, it would have most certainly been a great mistake. Rodney has all the best qualities of a yacht broker and more and this should not be overlooked.
We have had the pleasure of working with Chad Robertson over the course of this past summer in the sale of our 270 Outrage Boston Whaler. Chad showed impeccable work ethic and diligence during the selling process. In the past, we have discovered how difficult it is to sell a boat on your own and the lackluster results that come of it. Having Chad broker out boat was the best possible decision and with ease he brought about competitive offers that were more than what we had expected!
Chad worked around our schedule and was able to show the boat quiet frequently. In many instances, he would go above and beyond what was expected of him. He helped to keep the boat clean and prepare it before the showings. In addition, he facilitated the sea trial and the buyers seemed to really have enjoyed themselves. Chad was kind enough to help me with loading the boat on and off its trailer when needed. We were honestly surprised by this level of dedication and kindness.
While all of this amount to a wonderful broker, Chad has also become a wonderful friend to our family. His personality is one such that when we met him, we knew almost instantly that we wanted him to represent us as our broker. He is kind yet outgoing and it makes for a fun experience whenever he is around. It has been an absolute joy working with Chad and we cannot wait to work with him again when we buy another boat!
