Firstly, I couldn't be happier at the moment, because my boat is officially SOLD! And I owe it all to my yacht broker, Russ Schafer.

I had the pleasure of having Russ as my broker these past few months, and without his help I would have been completely lost. He really went above and beyond to make the process easy on me.

Russ was knowledgeable during the entire boat-selling process, he was always prompt to respond to my calls & emails, and he was patient and offered helpful advice though all the "ups & downs". In summary, I knew my boat was in good hands with Russ Schafer, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of a reliable yacht broker.

Just wanted to let you know about my experience with Charlie and Denison Yacht Sales. First of all there are a lot of boat sales firms and a lot of boats. I was considering two different boats at two different firms and at different parts of the nation.

I selected the boat I purchased due to the skill and personality of my representative Charlie. He worked with me as a buyer and negotiated a sale for the seller that we all felt was fair. He SOLD the boat, by picking me up at the airport, personally showing me the boat and answering tons of my emails. When I was getting worn down during the process of negotiating and closing Charlie was there to hold me together and get the seller and the buyer though the deal and to a Successful Closing.

I am 57 years old and a full blown type A personality. Charlie knew how to work with me and that is not easy. I am very high energy and he had the skills to keep me level and calm. He went way beyond the call of duty and I consider him first a true friend (the kind you respect) and second a professional in the brokerage business.

He will always be my yacht broker in the future.

I sailed throughout my formative years, then, as many people do, drifted away from the water, called to career, family, etc. A few years ago, as I watched happy boaters heading out for a day on the water, I wondered why I wasn't one of them, and decided to buy a boat.

Easier said than done. Where to start? Who to talk to? How much to pay? What kind of boat was right for me? It quickly became apparent that going on Craigslist wasn't the answer, so I sought out a professional yacht broker.

Luckily, I met Denise George. Her expertise (and patience!) in helping me understand what it was I was really looking for, and what was a realistic goal, made the the whole experience more than a business transaction: she brought me back to boats, and put me back on the water. It was quite a process, and Denise stayed involved and committed throughout: no question was too small, no issue too mundane. Denise responded thoughtfully to all my concerns, took me out on several sea trials, and searched the entire country for the boat that best suited me.

I'm now the proud owner of a beautiful J-32, which I sail solo, with friends, in races, and, most rewardingly, with my 5-year-old son, who absorbs the same lessons and inspiration from the sea that I did back in the day. He hauls lines, jumps on a winch and yells out to other boats with the best of them. Amazing.

So, thanks Denise, for everything. Your guidance and wisdom have lead to more than owning a boat, fantastic as that is: my life is on a whole new course.

Thanks for the pics of the delivery! We're looking forward to driving out to San Diego on Sunday and spending a couple of days on her, before my dad and I sail her up to Ventura. What an exciting adventure!
