Christensen Yachts

Christensen, an American made, custom superyacht builder known for insanely detailed craftsmanship. The founder, Dave Christensen, started his career in construction building commercial and residential properties in the 1950s. After retiring in 1982, Dave decided to build a yacht. Understandably, finding a manufacturer to build a yacht in collaboration with someone who hasn’t built a yacht before made it difficult. Westport Shipyard agreed to partner with Dave and the rest was history.

About Christensen Yachts

Christensen, an American made, custom superyacht builder known for insanely detailed craftsmanship. The founder, Dave Christensen, started his career in construction building commercial and residential properties in the 1950s. After retiring in 1982, Dave decided to build a yacht. Understandably, finding a manufacturer to build a yacht in collaboration with someone who hasn’t built a yacht before made it difficult. Westport Shipyard agreed to partner with Dave and the rest was history.

The Christensen yacht builds became so successful that Dave was able to incorporate Christensen Shipyards a few short years later in 1986. Dave continued leading the company until 2008 when he retired for a second time. Joe Foggia is now the CEO of Christensen. A notable launch includes the 60 Meter Casino Royale for John Staluppi in 2008. Since then, Christensen has partnered with Ocean Alexander Yachts and interior designer Evan K. Marshall to launch the Ocean Alexander 120 Megayacht, the first in a planned series of Superyachts to come in the future.
