The Carver 36 Mariner is a blend between a sports cruiser with the advantages of a fly-bridge. A spacious luxury yacht that offers lots of features that will make your trips on the water a real pleasure.
Engine
The 36 Mariner can be powered by one of these engines: Crusader® 5.7 MPI – 330 hp, Crusader® 6.0 MPI – 375 hp, Volvo Penta® 5.7 GXI – 315 hp and Yanmar Marine® 6LPA-STP – 315 hp (diesel). The access to the engine room is made raising the stairs in the salon whit a hydraulic lift. Gas-assisted shocks help you access the engine room from the cockpit area when needed. The engine room is completely gel coated white for a clean look and easy clean up. The wires are labeled and tied back and out of the way.
Exterior
The hull of the 36 Mariner has a running surface with a fine entry, rounded sections forward, offset chines aft, an eight-degree transom deadrise and a 14-inch deep, 3/4-length keel for improved tracking. The solid fiberglass hull is laid-up with mat and woven roving, plus considerable overlap for the keel and chines, while the deck and superstructure are comprised of end-grain balsa for stiffness and plywood for hardware backing. By the design of the hull, Carver intended to offer high performance at lower speeds and planning ability at higher speeds.
Interior
The Carver 36 Mariner has a spacious cockpit from which you can access the spacious bridge and the molded-in swim platform with integrated fold-out ladder on the port side. On the bridge you can find a wet bar with cold water tap and optional ice maker, and the deck hatch in the floor allows you to pass your favorite snack up from the galley to the bridge.
At the helm you’ll find split shifters, Teleflex gauges, stereo remote, and room for all of your favorite electronics.
Salon
On the port side of the salon is an L-shaped lounge that allows you to relax in while you watch the standard 20 inch flat screen TV with DVD player. The dinette is located on the starboard side of the salon. The cherry wood table can be dropped down for additional sleeping berth. In the galley located on the starboard side of the boat you will find a built-in microwave, two-burner electric stove, coffeemaker, abundant amount of storage, a refrigerator and ice maker.
In the cabin is a queen-sized berth with two steps on either side for easy access. A deck hatch allows fresh air and sunlight to fill the room.
Test drive
Testing the 36 Mariner you’ll find that it can reach a maximum speed of 31.7 mph at 5000 rpm. With a full tank you can cruise for about 355 miles at 22 mph. The special design of the hull makes it easy to handle the 36 Mariner in all types of water.
Conclusion
With a roomy cockpit and a bridge built for entertainment, the Carver 36 Mariner will make your water trips a real pleasure.
