Century Boat Company was founded in 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company moved to Manistee, Michigan in 1928 where it stayed for 60 years. During the 1930’s, Century Hurricanes held the world’s Outboard Speed record.
Century offered 28 models by 1937. During the 1940’s, Century was awarded a contract to manufacture boats for WWII, receiving the Army-Navy Citation for high achievement in the production of materials.
Century’s slogan, “Thoroughbred of Boats” was created in the 1950’s, a time when the popular Coronado boats were used in Hollywood films. By the early 1960’s, Century launched a 45-foot motor yacht and its first jet-powered boat. Towards the end of the 60’s, Century converted to fiberglass hulls.
Over the past 90 years, Century has grown into one of the largest American boat builders famed for fishability, luxury, and reliability. Century moved to its current location in Zephyrhills, Florida in 2012 where it offers a full line of saltwater fishing boats ranging from 17 to 32 feet.
