Don Aronow founded Cigarette Racing Team in 1969 in Aventura, Florida. Earning the title, “The King of Thunderboat Row,” Aronow debuted with the launch of a 32’ deep V-hull. He was a legendary powerboat racer, breaking speed records and winning three consecutive U.S. championships.
During the 1970’s, Cigarette introduced the 28’ Standard, an open fishing model and the first production boat of The Cigarette Racing Team. The Cigarette 36 was launched shortly after with a narrower beam and extended transom, which became the new dominant powerboat.
In 1978, Aronow sold Cigarette to Halter Marine. A few years later, Aronow bought back into the company and merged it with his new venture, Squadron XII.
Cigarette Racing Team and Mercedes-AMG have team up to create a line-up of high performance, luxury yachts with the latest collaboration of the 50’ Marauder GT S. Cigarette’s fleet of high performance boats ranges from 38 to 50 feet.
