Larson Boats was founded in 1913 in Little Falls, Minnesota when Paul Larson built his first boat. An American Classic, the Larson brand delivers superior performance, style, technology, and safety.

In 1922, Larson became Minnesota’s first Johnson dealer. During the 1920’s Paul takes on the hobby of “full-tilt powerboat racing” and wins numerous trophies, which brought notable recognition to his growing company.

The 1930’s and 40’s was a time of rapid growth for Larson. The demand for wooden boats increased and Larson had to double its production facility. Paul patented the Falls Flyer, a sleek, stylish, and modern boat that won over the American heart with an airplane-like body and cockpit.

Larson began building wooden boats with some aluminum models, but transitioned to fiberglass in the 1950’s with the patented fiberglass Rand Gun. Larson became the world’s largest fiberglass runabout manufacturer by 1969.

Larson garnered the reputation: “A Little Bit of Legend. A Whole Lot of Fun.” during the 1990’s. A leader in innovation with a century of experience, Larson has perfected the art of providing the best value.
