Monterey Boats was founded in 1985 in Archer, Florida by the Marshall brothers, partners, co-chairman, and CEO of the company. The independently owned and operated family company focuses on quality, design, and ease of maintenance

In 1989, Monterey introduced its first family cruiser, the 2700 Cruiser. During the mid-1990’s, the company built a fleet of Sport Boats and Express Cruisers and expanded its selection into the deck boat market.

Monterey hit a milestone in 1999 with the introduction of the Air Assist Chine into the sport boat hull. This innovation inserts air under the hull to allow for a faster planning time and a slower speed to stay on plane.

Monterey has two main manufacturing plants, one for sport boats and the other for cruisers and sport yachts. Monterey boats are built with a 5-step process using the latest in 3D modeling software. Partial scale models and full scale models are created to ensure every cubic inch of the boat.
