Nautor’s Swan was founded in 1966 by Pekka Koskenkyla in Pietarsaari, Finland. Pekka hired Sparkman & Stephens of New York to design the iconic Swan 36, a fiberglass sailing yacht that provided greater stability with less weight and better living space than the traditional wooden boats.

Sparkman & Stephens designed the Swan 38, Swan 47, Swan 55, and Swan 65. In the late 1970’s, famous yacht designer, Ron Holland, collaborated with Nautor’s Swan to design the Swan 37, Swan 39, and Swan 42.

During the 1980’s, German Frers began designing Nautor’s Swan yachts and has since been responsible for the design of all Swan yachts. Frers’ design of the Swan 66 is a representation of everything the brand represents.
