About Jefferson Yachts
In 1982, Leon Shaw, a revered yacht builder, founded Jefferson Yachts on the Ohio River in Jeffersonville, Indiana. His first yacht, a 48-foot Cockpit Motor Yacht, set the precedent for the production of over 500 yachts.
Once an industry leader in design, engineering, and reliability, Jefferson Yachts combined old world craftsmanship with the latest technology to create safe, dependable, and comfortable yachts.
Mr. Shaw was very involved with the design and build of each yacht, engineering each one from a yachtsman’s point of view to ensure smooth operation, dependability, and elegance.
Jefferson Yachts is no longer in business, but manufactured a series of four yacht models: Marquessa, Rivanna, Pilothouse and Starship.
Each Jefferson yacht model is drastically different but built to meet the highest standards of attention to detail and dedication to luxury. The 37-foot Viscount and the 82-foot Starship are the most prestigious of Jefferson’s designs.
