Accommodations

Accommodations

The design of this boat is very European with its sleek and clean lines. The aft cabin is located to port, and offers comfortable accommodations for two adults. There are hanging lockers as well as drawers.

The forward cabin consists of a V berth, with hanging lockers on either side, as well as drawers. There is also a bench seat to port in the forward cabin. There are latched lockers on either side of the hull, offering additional storage. Although the A/C unit is located under the forward berth, there is still substantial storage available all the way forward. Ventilation and light are provided by the three deck hatches, each of which has a sliding hatch cover to provide shade and protect the interior.

The main salon area can be converted into sleeping quarters, with each of the settees located off to the side extending outboard by lifting the backrests.

Galley

Galley

The compact galley is located to port as one comes down the companionway steps. It is L shaped to facilitate cooking while underway, as well as to maximize the use of space. The two burner propane stove is gimballed, and when not in use has a folding cover to add to the flat surface area. The twin Stainless Steel sinks are located inboard, allowing one to face forward when standing at the sinks. There is hot and cold pressurized water, as well an Adler/Barbour 12 volt fridge/freezer.

There are numerous lockers located above the countertop area, as well as drawers and additional storage area around the sinks. The entire countertop area is laminated and fiddled.

Engines

Engines

The Volvo Penta 29 hp diesel is reliable and extremely fuel efficient. Engine access is very well laid out, and particularly easy. There is a panel that may be removed in the aft cabin on the port side of the engine, allowing easy access to the alternator, starter motor, riser, fresh water reservoir and strainer.

The front end is accessed when the steps are raised, giving one access to the rest of the working parts.

Hull And Deck

Hull and deck

The clean lines of the boat make it easy to maneuver around, and the cockpit is spacious and comfortable. The boat may be sailed from the cockpit only, with all the lines being led aft. The winches are self-tailing, allowing one to manage the boat alone if necessary. The electronics are mounted on the pedestal at the helm, and the jib sheets(new in 2015) can be manned from just in front of the helm.

There is a manual adjustable backstay, which is easily controlled by the helmsman.

The main is in-mast furling, and can easily be controlled by one person. There are only two lines required to control the furling and unfurling, and once set may be left alone. The Genoa is on a roller furler, and is easily handled by one person.

There is also a reaching, assymetrical spinnaker, with an ATN collar in a sock. The spin sheets were replaced in 2015.

The cockpit also has two lazarettes. The port lazarette is level with the cockpit sole, but is large and provides good storage. The starboard lazaraette is extremely big, and may be used to store a dinghy, outboard, as well as miscellaneous items too large for regular storage.

The cockpit also has a bimini and dodger, which provide protection from the elements.

NEW portholes were replaced in 2014.
